not a huge champagne fan, but it does go pretty darn good with dark chocolate at room temp(almost melty, but not quite-like good cheese) and buttery shortbread cookies...mmmm.

Cause and Effect

1. Wegmans, Giant, Costco, Karns(local), Weis(regional)-but I only shop at Wegmans & Costco. Alas-no WF/WO or TJ's any closer than 2 hours.Also local CSA-Spiral Path.
2. Yes-I buy as much organic as I can (but base it on pesticide, hormone, antibx) Wegmans is new here (about 8 months) and it has totally changed my shopping experience. I love it!!!
3.n/a
4.i should spend less-but I too mix frugal (buying bulk or sale items) with "must have" indulgences (i.e. Point Reyes blue cheese, asian rice crackers, fresh bread, fresh raspberries, dark chocolate)
5. Central Pa-West Shore

would love to see the results!

Mother's Day and the Restaurant Experience...

I agree that MD is whatever makes Mom happy- I'm happiest in the kitchen and feeding other people and making THEM happy-so I cooked for everyone else today. And I'm not italian-but maybe in a former life-seems I never sit down at these meals either. But let me just say, in mother's-day-induced fit of narcissism-my meal ROCKED!! I outdid myself...and that made me happy mom on MD.

Why Can't You Get a Good Slice Outside New York City? 'Wired' Magazine Says It's the Water

h2o? maybe-I think it's a northeast us thing: I've traveled all over the US and there's nothing like NY/NJ/PA ( I live in Central PA) pizza. California pizza just doesn't have the sauce flavor or the great foldable crust.

benlee: FYI-San Fran's great sourdough is from a decades-old starter, but there are also specific cultures/spores present in the air out there. They've even been named for the city!

Ooohh...that's easy.... Godiva's rasberry filled chocolates, glass of champagne (okay, two glasses) and a long hot bath. Heaven.

Not to interrupt this very good post but, what and where is Whole Foods? Also, just out of curiosity blankplate, please share with me how you feed 3 people for a week for $60, I live in Philadelphia, not too far from you, and I must be doing something wrong.
