Rack and Soul: The Best Fried Chicken and Ribs in New York?
I actually love the BBQ chicken from Rack and Soul. On the other hand, I only bought their fried chicken once. I ordered a half chicken to go. It was dry, very overcooked, cold, and was missing the thigh. I've never tried it again.
Cook the Book: 'Into the Vietnamese Kitchen'
My resolution is to start a dining club, where we all cook together 1x/month to make a kind of a DIY dinner party.

I second the suggestion of Amir's Falafel, on Broadway right near Columbia University. They make outstanding falafel. I particularly like that their tahini is lemony, while their falafel are just slightly spicy (but not overwhelmingly so) and replete with parsley. Also, their vegetables are always fresh and crisp. Their milk pudding (flavored with rose water) is really good too, although not always perfectly prepared.
