Wow, this looks awesome. Your mapo tofu is magnificent looking, man.
beautiful pictures..maybe it's just me, but Chicago's Chinatown's food looks somewhat better than the Chinatown foods of other cities.
When I was working in a Chinese kitchen, I tried the pickled green beans for the first time; we had it as a weekly staff meal. They are really sour (almost lip-puckeringly sour) and took a bit of time to get used to, but then the sourness turned into deliciousness, I remember eating just a few pieces at a time balanced with a big bite of rice. There were also shreds of smoked duck in it which gave it even more bite!
Be sure to check out a Snapdragon Baking Co. based in San Jose, CA. They recently won a good foods award for their non vegan brittle, but they do have a selection of tasty vegan baked goods/sweets as well.
The whole video is amazing!

Last slide- Juice could have been slurped from the plate. Also, breaking the dumpling on the plate shows how much juice there is and how delicious the broth is inside the dumpling. The broth looks so shiny/flavorful. Well executed, Laura Togut.
That's where my brother goes to school! All those sound so good. I had pancakes last time, but no milkshake. I'll be sure to get one though. Thanks a lot, everybody.
I went to Mickey's Diner last year and am planning on going again this time! I'm pretty sure I will be staying very close to Grand Ave, so maybe more specific input there? Thanks everyone!
I just wanted to let you know how important/groundbreaking this post is. As a tonkotsu ramen fan, there has always been that unbeatable mystery behind the broth. I feel like you've just unlocked a secret door for everyone with your hard work and trial and error and testing. Thanks! One day, when I am ready, I will embark on a journey to make a subliminal soup broth and I am certain that this recipe or knowledge even will be the building block that I base my creation on. Thanks again. There is something so inexplicably amazing about this kind of food.

Who knew bologna could be such a hot topic? I'm not desperately poor or in prison but I enjoy eating bologna. I know it's not anything special but it's a comfort food for me.
