Restaurant Week: Your Recommendations, Your Warnings

I went to Mesa Grill for dinner and loved it! Even their bread basket was delish. I had the cauliflower/chile soup, their mahi mahi with pineapple salsa (an odd first for me but definitely a winner), and a pineapple upside down cake for dessert. It was a great deal considering the mahi mahi dish is usually $29 on its own.

Sugar Rush: Che Ba Mau at Banh Mi Saigon

i used to love this as a kid! though the ones that i've had in new york come with crushed peanuts sometimes which tastes weird to me.

Are You a Night Baker?

Me too! I made banana chocolates bread last night because baking helps me de-stress after sucky work days. I blame my night owl baking tendencies on my roommates since they got me into taking part in their drunken baking contests (probably not a good idea but no fires started to date). We'd always have baking matches after getting home from the bar especially since we always craved sweets after drinking.

I think I've had something called durian that looked really similar to this...

Win Tickets to the New Taste of the Upper West Side Event

Though it's 3 streets shy of officially being on the Upper West Side, I love Kashkaval's yummy mediterranean tapa plates... especially its giant sides of tomatoey elephant beans. Otherwise, Cafe Con Leche is my favorite UWS eatery with its huge Cuban sandwiches and rice dishes!
