Scoop the Book: Sweet Cream and Sugar Cones from Bi-Rite Creamery

Ben & Jerry's Cool Britannia. It's in the graveyard now.

The Serious Eats Guide to Irish Whiskey

I'm kind of a noob, but the 10 year Single Malt from Bushmills is my favorite so far. Still trying to try more (as well as some Scotch, thanks to the other article)!

The Serious Eats Guide to Blended Scotch Whisky

As usual, a great read. It's ten in the morning and I want a drink.

A Sandwich A Day: Home Depot Jerk Cheesesteak from Rocco's in Philadelphia

The best hot dog I've ever had was from a cart outside of a Home Depot in Dallas.

The Serious Eats Guide to Single Malt Scotch

Really good read, thanks for all the great info, especially on the regions. Looking forward to trying a few new ones!

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Southside Market Sausage, Chicken, and Steaks

Angelo's in Ft Worth, simply because my Dad loved to take me there.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Korin Knife

I have a ceramic knife I got for Christmas... I didn't expect much but it's turned out to be my go-to knife for cutting up veggies. Since I don't eat much meat anymore, I'd have to say that's my favorite.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Zingerman's Praise the Lard Gift Box

I love my dad's bacon. No one makes it quite like he does, and I can't figure it out.

What's Your Favorite Mexican Soda?

Topo Sabores Tamarind or Peach (made by the folks at Topo Chico).

I'm looking forward to the taco tour write-up!

Grilling: Bacon-Wrapped, Jalapeno and Cheese-Stuffed Shrimp

I first had these at Pappasito's as well and recreated them at home. I've found that cheese sticks usually work really well for the cheese, especially the frigo light cheesehead ones.

I realize quality may not be the best, but they don't melt quite as quickly so you end up with more cheese in the shrimp than on the coals.

Halloween Scoop: Better Than Snickers Ice Cream

I have a fun size Snickers in the freezer here at work just waiting for a 3p snack.

Barbecue: Burnt Ends

I want to have sex with that sandwich.

Sorry if that's inappropriate.

(Haunted) Beer History: The Rise & Fall of the Lemp Dynasty

Seriously cool, thanks!

From Behind the Bar: On Whiskey

I was camping in Iowa over the weekend and we had Cedar Ridge Bourbon Whiskey. I'm relatively new at this game, but it was perfect for sipping around the fire.

Candy a Day: Peanut Butter M&M's

The orange and blue ones taste the best.

Any great hole in the wall joints in Dallas Park Central area?

I can't think of much right around there...

You could head south down 75 to Deep Ellum - Cane Rosso (VPN pizza) is there, it's been mentioned a few times here on SE and is my favorite pizza in the city. There are some good burger places down there too (Twisted Root, Angry Dog, Anvil Pub).

Komali is Mexican food, might be good for a fancier dinner (not super-fancy, but definitely higher end Mexican). It's on Cole in Uptown.

Cook the Book: 'The Homesick Texan Cookbook'

CandyBlog - candy is food, right?

A Sandwich a Day: The Sausage And Pepper at Il Cane Rosso in Dallas

The pizza is so good that I never really consider trying the sandwiches or pasta... might have to change that.

7-Eleven Slice Salvation

More things need "push for chilli" and "push for cheese" buttons...

Giveaway: Enter to Win This Panasonic Breadmaker

A Sandwich a Day: The Reggie Deluxe at Pine State Biscuits in Portland, Oregon

Since I didn't really forsee a trip up to the Northwest, I went ahead and made my own. Pretty f'ing amazing, wish I could try the real thing.

Cook the Book: 'Super Natural Every Day'

Anything quinoa...

Father's Day Book Giveaway: 'Eat Like a Man: The Only Cookbook a Man Will Ever Need'

I love my dad's hamburgers. It is the only time I eat Miracle Whip.

AHT Giveaway: Case of Pat LaFrieda Burgers

Post it or keep it a secret?

To me, there is nothing more frustrating than seeing pictures of a something delicious on a blog, reading a great story about how much said dish means to the family, and then getting to the bottom of the post with nothing more than "sorry, no recipe, it's a family secret." I'm probably not family, and I won't ever get to try it.

If you want to keep it a secret, fine, but don't do a blog post about how awesome it is and then not share how I can replicate it at home.

Monterey, CA area - lunch tomorrow!!

I'm driving down to Big Sur from San Jose tomorrow and am going to be in the Monterey area around lunch time... any suggestions on a good place to eat?

I'm open to pretty much anything, any help will be greatly appreciated!!

What to do with an extra turkey?

I just won one of the D'Artagnan turkey contests, but now I don't know what to do with it! My family already has our bird thawing in the fridge, and there are only going to be 7 of us so we don't need another one.

Thanksgiving is pretty much the only time I eat turkey, so I'm kind of a noob here. Any suggestions?
