Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeno and Cheese-Stuffed Shrimp

I first had these at Pappasito's as well and recreated them at home. I've found that cheese sticks usually work really well for the cheese, especially the frigo light cheesehead ones.

I realize quality may not be the best, but they don't melt quite as quickly so you end up with more cheese in the shrimp than on the coals.

You could head south down 75 to Deep Ellum - Cane Rosso (VPN pizza) is there, it's been mentioned a few times here on SE and is my favorite pizza in the city. There are some good burger places down there too (Twisted Root, Angry Dog, Anvil Pub).

Komali is Mexican food, might be good for a fancier dinner (not super-fancy, but definitely higher end Mexican). It's on Cole in Uptown.

Since I didn't really forsee a trip up to the Northwest, I went ahead and made my own. Pretty f'ing amazing, wish I could try the real thing.

Post it or keep it a secret?

To me, there is nothing more frustrating than seeing pictures of a something delicious on a blog, reading a great story about how much said dish means to the family, and then getting to the bottom of the post with nothing more than "sorry, no recipe, it's a family secret." I'm probably not family, and I won't ever get to try it.

If you want to keep it a secret, fine, but don't do a blog post about how awesome it is and then not share how I can replicate it at home.
