What is the Greatest Compliment You Have Received on Your Food

My husband grew up in New Orleans, but we are now stationed in Japan. This was his first Mardi Gras away from home, so I made a king cake to bring to his work. Instead of bringing it to the potluck with all the other food, he hid it in his office and only let those he thought were "worthy" eat it. He told me it's the best king cake he's ever eaten, and he's ALWAYS honest about whether or not he likes my food.

How would you christen a Le Creuset?

@NWcajun, My husband did the exact same thing to the le creuset he bought for me for my birthday this year. I christened it with baked beans, and he thought he'd be nice and wash it for me. He put it on a burner on high to dry it (hey, that's what we do with un-enameled cast iron) and forgot about for 2 hours! The enamel on the bottom actually melted onto the burner. I cried.

Pesto! I think I could eat it every day if I had enough basil.

Butterscotch Pudding: Searching for the Perfect Recipe

I made this last night after reading this post. A few weeks ago I was poking around for a butterscotch pudding recipe and couldn't find one that I liked.

I had a hard time falling asleep last night dreaming of this pudding setting in my refrigerator.

I sneaked a taste this morning - OH MY GOD IT'S DIVINE!

It's going in my permanent recipe file.

Where Would You Throw an Impromptu, Perhaps Illegal, Dinner Party?

The Great Wall.

If anyone has ever been the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, THAT would be an amazing place.

Also, what about the inside of an Egyptian pyramid?

Essentials: Feeding Your Friends (With Migas)

Our very casual go-to meal is BBQ.

My husband is a genious with the smoker; pulled pork or brisket are my favorite. Pair that with homemade baked beans or mac & cheese, coleslaw, and and banana pudding and it's bound to please.

Cook the Book: The Cornbread Gospels

The best cornbread comes from my grandmother's house.

My favorite meal there consists of purple hull peas from her field, tomatoes from her garden, tea so sweet it makes your teeth hurt, and about a million cornbread muffins.

Good thing I'm going to visit her later this week...this post has me in the mood for some cornbread!
