My husband, who hates to spend too much money on pretentious restaurant food in NYC, would walk through FIRE to eat at a Danny Meyer restaurant!. Why? Because he is made to feel at home, as as though he is really special, there is always some "touch" that endears the whole place to him. I could go on and on with stories, but while we assume that the food is good at a certain price point in most restaurants in NYC, that extra caring hospitality is worth the earth, and if it is lacking, Jim just won't go back.
