Besides Serious Eats, I like David Lebovitz and Chocolate & Zucchini!
Cook the Book: 'The Craft of Baking'
I've had many great desserts so I'll just pick one of the most memorable that I had at Joyce Goldstein's now-closed Square One in San Francisco. It was a wonderful sampler of mini desserts. I loved being able to have a few bites of several different choices - heaven!

Scrabble Cheez-Its
I think maybe it's called Scrabble Junior because they resemble the letter tiles in that game vs. the ones in regular Scrabble that have numbers on them showing letter values.

Cook the Book: 'Beyond the Great Wall'
Not exotic but a sweet story...many years ago while visiting Rome, I was robbed and on my birthday to boot. At dinner, the waiter heard what happened from my dinner companions and presented us with an entire (gigantic) cake! He said it was to replace my bad memory with a good memory about Italy and the Italian people.
