As if a successful restaurant would throw out a celebrity for no reason. This is the Fallon quote in New York magazine: "I think they use a blow dryer on the cheese. That would be the best Ritz cracker pizza. I assume they have a place named Crusto? I bet they have a stack of these ready to cook." See his review: http://nymag.com/daily/food/2009/03/pizza_tour.html#photo=1
On Twitter, Fallon claims he never said that. Either way, his name is on it so you can’t blame the owners for taking offense. The food is delicious and his review calls it blow-dried Ritz crackers. He and his little cadre gave Spunto the lowest rating. He thinks he can badmouth them in New York magazine but they should treat him like Little Lord Fauntleroy when he graces them with his presence. Where is he from? New Yorkers understand that if you dish it out you gotta be able to take it. Obviously the food is good or he wouldn’t keep eating it. (He was a regular customer at Posto.) If writing a bad review were not mean enough, he inflicts further damage to them---he twitters his 588,916 followers to boycott all of their restaurants and he says that the owners should be ashamed. No, he should be ashamed. He says: “I have never ever EVER reviewed Posto.” (Liars always overdo it. ;-) He is technically correct and intentionally misleading. He should be a Congressman. The review above was for Spunto---owned by the same guys, serving the same pizza as Posto. So, would it have been OK with him if they kicked him out of Spunto instead of Posto? And sinking even lower, he continued belittling the waitress on Twitter, referring to her as "carb faced carol." She was just doing what her boss told her to do. (Why does he eat pizza all the time if he is anti-carb? Are proteins and fats superior? Is Fathead Fallon superior to Carb-Face Carol?) He then accuses Carol of being rude to his 11-month-old sleeping baby. How can you be rude to a sleeping baby? What did she say? “I am laughing at you and I am laughing at that comatose little shrimp in the stroller too!” Well, someone who was there said that when Fathead Fallon was asked to leave, he had a tantrum---cursing and insulting the waitress. If her response was to laugh at him---good for her. He can be sure a lot more people are laughing at him now. ;-) If he doesn’t want to be laughed at he shouldn’t have tantrums in public places and he definitely shouldn’t complain to 588,916 about being laughed at by a waitress. If he wrote the review he should accept the consequences and stop being such a weasel. If he didn’t, then he should write a retraction. You don’t attack the people you wronged, you apologize. You make it right. Moral of the story: Never bite the hand that feeds you and if you do, don’t complain when they stop feeding you and start laughing at you.
