Los Angeles: The Tasty Modern Diner Burger at K2

Hey that place is just around the corner from me! Always thought it was more of an upscale restaurant so never bothered to stop in. Who knew?! Burger looks great and $10.95 ain't too shabby if you ask me especially considering the chef's pedigree. Darn, I'm so hungry... so very very hungry.

A Taste of Home at Betty's Burgers in Santa Cruz, CA

That's it. Decision made! Time to take a road trip up to SC for a little surf 'n burger. I love it when you head out of L.A. for a burger review! As someone who likes to visit California's treasure chest of towns (and a burger is the first thing I hunt down to eat when away) I'm glad you go out of your way to find a good burger so I don't have to.

Revenge of the Burger at The Running Iron in Carmel Valley, CA

Nice find! Who'd a thought a place like this even existed in Carmel? I've been there several times and never even heard of it. Dang, those pics make me wanna take a drive up north for a few onion rings and a burger so I can stuff my belly under a canopy of old cowboy boots. Very cool find!

Another Arizona Near-Miss Burger: Zinburger in Phoenix

Maybe I'm missing something here amidst the ranting about a "political burger review"? Lemme reread the burger review... Um, still missing what all the hoopla is about. I see factual statements and the slightest mention of what defines the American Dream. Looks like a lot of commenters forgot to put on their critical thinking caps before putting their hands on their keyboards. However, @jimmi's weirdo "grammar errors" comment puts the icing on the lunacy cake for me. I've been an avid follower of AHT (and Damon's articles in particular) because they're always meticulously written. This one is no different except for the fact that after reading the Zinburger review I suddenly had the urge to eat my own underwear for the first time rather than plunk down fourteen smackers for a pile of warm bland between two pieces of more bland. Undies sandwich anyone?

Great review as always!

Burgers and Nuns at Pete's Cafe and Bar in Los Angeles

ahhhh... Pete's... one of my first real burger experiences in L.A. too! Once I became a more discerning devourer of burgers (thanks to your reviews) I feared it wouldn't hold up and didn't want to risk the disappointment. Thanks for taking a bullet on this one. I will say, however, their bleu cheese fries hold a special place in my heart-- the same place where the arteries will soon clog.

A Disappointing Burger at Cabbage Patch in Beverly Hills

P.S. Is it just me or has the Golden State burger gone down hills a bit since they first opened? I haven't been there in months but the last 3 or 4 times I went something was off.

A Disappointing Burger at Cabbage Patch in Beverly Hills

I'm surprised you were able to find your way out of the restaurant with all that arugula attacking your burger! I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of what makes a good burger thanks to your reviews. It's fun impressing friends at dinner when I start going on about fine grinds and brioche buns. You are officially my Cyrano De Burgerac. Thanks for another great review!

A Burger That's Better Than I Remember at The York in Highland Park, CA

How strange! I haven't been to The York in a few years & have no memory of their burger being good or bad. Gonna have to head over and give it a try now that you've made my mouth water over it! Love the "remembrance of things past..." I normally don't like feeling all gushy when navigating the blogosphere for my next best burger but somehow this one hit the spot. Great review!

A Rock-ing Good Burger at 3 Square Café + Bakery in Venice, Los Angeles

WOW! This looks amazing! I just ate dinner and this made me hungry all over again. I used to live down the street from Röckenwagner but it was to rich for my blood. I'm so stoked now to go to 3 Square for this burger... and that crazy truffle macaroni and cheese deep-fried thingy! AWESOME REVIEW AND FIND!

Burger Disappointment at Square One Dining in Hollywood

I'm not sure what I find more horrifying: the plain Jane, dried out burger or the lack of French fries as a choice for a side. I've eaten here once for breakfast and found it scrumptious in that skimpy-L.A.-fancy pants sort of way. Thanks for saving me what would have proved to be a wasted trip for a burger!

Burgers and Wine: The Umami Burger Truck and domaineLA

I recently had a Smashburger from Umami and as it turns out I loved it! I actually prefer these to their in-restaurant burgers. Awesome review!
...partly because I agree and partly because you just alerted me to a new wine shop.

Testing Burger Boundaries at Wood Spoon in LA

Um... no thank you! I once tried making meatloaf from ground pork and it proved disastrous if not completely inedible. Thanks for not allowing my curiosity about pork in burgers to get the best of me. Then again, maybe a healthy dose of bacon grease spooned into the center of Wood Spoon's pork burger prior to cooking might make it juicy. Nah, sounds disgusting.

The Burger Lab: Which Makes A Better Burger, Grass-Fed or Grain?

An Old-Fashioned Burger at Jack's Classic Hamburgers in North Hollywood
