How to Cook Dried Beans

Always soaked until recently when i got some local "fresh" dried beans. Was in a pinch one day and decided to try to cook them without soaking. Black beans took less than 2 hours, other types around the same amount of time. When i tried soaking them a subsequent time it took them not too much less time to cook and even though i didn't cook them in the soaking liquid, so much stinkier that night (even the breast fed baby was so much smellier the next day!).

Peanut Butter: Good Foie Gras Replacement on New Year's?

agreed, every time i have a preparation of foie and a fruit (there's a particularly good one ar jean-goerge) i always thing it has a very similar flavor and mouth feel to PBJ.
