Question of the Day: What's your favorite type of steak?
ribeye-medium rare yum
Coops place is a must. It is a little hole in the wall local hangout with the best sausage with red beans and rice and seafood gumbo. If your craving a fried oyster po boy go to Acme oyster house. For fried chicken head over to fiorellas. Lastly, for a more fancy dinner, Nola is one of my favs. And you cant go do Nawlins with going to Cafe du Monde for some beignets.
funny that, on the home page it say's CAKE! German chocolate or cheesecake.
For steak, vegetarian!
Bayona, Palace Café, Lillet, Herb Saint, Clancy's, Gauthraux, The Upperline, Commander's Palace, for a classic, Arnaud's (all of these were awesome, don't know if they are open or closed). Emerils and Delmonicos are good, Nola is not as good though. I used to love an italian place (not NOLA eats by any means though) called Bravo, has a special place in my heart from when I lived there, but it has more of a chain vibe.
Best steak ever was a Salisbury at Horn and Hardart's a few years back.
I like the broiled Costco sirloins I make at home, but my dream steak is the bifsteak Florentine that Lidia Bastianich made. WOW.
Double cut rib eye, New York Strip or Porterhouse - all bone in and dry aged, and cooked rare to medium rare.
I usually dry age my own beef at home, which is very easy to do.
I prefer my steaks grilled over really hot charcoal, but a good gas grill will work.
Two faves. London Broil, marinated in red wine and garlic, then grilled till medium rare. I've also become a HUGE fan of skirt steak, simply seasoned with S&P then grilled or broiled for five minutes per side. Goes great by itself or in tacos.
I love a good flatiron, but I'm coming around to a hanger lately.
Ribeye! Salt! Grilled rare! Oh I'm soooo happy.
rib eye with bone, a little soy sauce, pepper, crushed garlic. lots of caramelized onions and mushroom on the side, with couscous or cold pesto. hopefully, trying to fleck bugs away from it outside.
