A SWINE'S VALENTINE
A piggy named Nathaniel
Sat along a muddy bank;
Wiggled his tail, wrinkled his snout, and
Imagined away the time.
Now and then a dream
Entertained his piggy mind--
'
Skimming across the water--a swiney
Valentine!
Afloat atop an inner tube, the graceful
Lady drifted;
Ever
Nearer
To his muddy bank; Nathaniel's love
Impending! But now
Nathaniel wakes, and blinks his piggie eyes;
Eats a tuft of river grass . . . and sighs.
