AHT Giveaway: Case of Pat La Frieda Burgers

When I was about 12 or 13 I went rafting for 8 days on the San Juan river. We emerged from the canyon, hopped into an old Land Cruiser and headed back towards civilization. We stopped at the first beacon of human existence: McDonald's.

Up to this point my McDonald's knowledge began and ended with nuggets and cheeseburgers so at the groups insistence, I ordered a Big Mac. After eating sardines, jerkey and other types of canned/freeze dried vittles for a week, the Big Mac was incredible. The bun was soft, the burger was hot, the cheese was oozing while the sauce, lettuce and pickles kept things nice and cool. I ordered a second one before I even finished my first.

(just as a reminder/disclaimer - favorite burger-related memory, not favorite burger)

Taste Test: Whole Foods' DIY Pizza Ingredients

Awesome. I've cracked 3 stones now and am looking to step it up to something that won't break quite so easily. Your results were way better than mine, even before the stones met their premature demise. I'll give the Williams Sonoma stone a look.

Thanks for the tips!

In Williamsburg, Diner and Its Burger Are Anything but Typical

The only thing better than the burger at Diner is their steak sandwich. I've only seen it as a special one time but it was a near-religious experience.

Great review, Nick. If you're a 'burg native, you should check out (a href=http://www.juliettewilliamsburg.com>Juliette. They had some special grass-fed burger there a few weeks ago that was lights out. Plus, can you say terrace?
