Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Edible Chocolate Box from Charles Chocolates
So hard to choose, but I think I'd have to go with chocolate volcano cakes. YUM.
An Ode to the Morning Bun
Best morning bun, hands down, no competition is at Tartine Bakery in San Francisco. I mean, it's true that the best everything is at Tartine. So it stands to reason their morning bun would be the best, too. But really: they are the definition of perfect. YUM.
Same-Sex Weddings Lead to Same-Sex Wedding Cakes
@Erin Zimmer, it was perfect, somehow. I didn't even know it was black-pepper creme fraiche mousse! But the cake is light, airy, not too sweet....very different from most wedding cakes, which makes it even better.

Cook the Book: 'The Pioneer Woman Cooks'
Oh gosh... well, I'd be remiss if I didn't plug my own blog, Dena's Recipe Exchange. And I also really love the Pioneer Woman, truth be told. In fact, I discovered her when you guys mentioned her a couple of years ago!

Does Your Grocery Store Have You Crying Tears of Joy?
While I do love Whole Foods -- for so many reasons, including their amazing commitment to humanely raised meats -- I am in love with my local grocery store chain, Market of Choice. We don't have a Whole Foods around here in Eugene, Oregon, and I do think that even if we did, I'd still go for Market of Choice. They're locally-owned, they have a similar kind of product quality and commitment to sustainability as Whole Foods, but they're a little cheaper. They have an amazing prepared foods section, salad bar, etc. I HEART my Market of Choice!

Oooooooh the Cranberry Sauce Morning-After Muffins. Cranberry sauce is my FAVORITE -- and to make use of the leftover relish the day after by making muffins? Genius.
Same-Sex Weddings Lead to Same-Sex Wedding Cakes
I was at that wedding, and I had a piece of that Love Letter cake, and it was DELICIOUS. Made all the more sweeter because of the occasion it was celebrating.
Cook the Book: 'Whole Grains: Every Day, Every Way'
On the one hand, whole wheat is the most widely available. BUT on the other hand, I think quinoa is the winner in our household. I cook with it at least once a week, and have taken to substituting it for pasta -- anything that would go well with pasta goes well with quinoa. And it's SO GOOD for you!
Dinner Tonight: Pasta alla Puttanesca
I would also like to add another theory on the origins of this delicious dish's name....
It is so called Pasta Puttanesca because it is fast and easy.
I also make a non-anchovy version....still delicious, I tell you!
Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Two Peter Luger Steaks
It feels so....typical. But I cannot tell a lie: I adore filet.
When filet doesn't fit into my budget, I go for the lesser-known baseball steak.
Cook the Book: Vegetarian Suppers
My favorite vegetarian meal is very simple: angel hair pasta with fresh, ripe summer tomatoes, garlic, basil, parmesan cheese. Heaven.
