I love this smoked whitefish gefilte fish—getting ready to make a batch tonight!
I'm fond of the sueño, which pairs tequila with rosemary, lime and cucumber. Refreshing and sweet-but-not-too-sweet.
My favorite hot toddy recipe is a weak gingery, lemony tea base with whisky and a splash of honey -- boozy and light, and not cloying and oversweetened like many of the other hot options.
Truffle oil on pasta (and sometimes popcorn).
This! Please! Oh, for a good bagel.
A spread like this. Or a sloppy burrito.
I join all the other Jews surfing the internet on Christmas to say: this package would be my perfect breakfast. Send it out West!
Truffle oil on pizza and pasta, but sadly never the actual truffle itself. Yet.

These magic in the middle cookies have a peanut butter filling inside a bitterseweet cocoa cookie -- sort of cookiedom's answer to the peanut butter cup. And they're amazing.
I just made my own compost cookies -- no shipping charges, and bonus points for using up leftover Halloween candy!
I'm fond of this sweet and nippy rhubarb liqueur. Why eat it when you can drink it?
These days I've been taking advantage of the season and putting up some rhubarb liqueur to sip with meals throughout the year. Sweet and boozy, but with a touch of rhubarb bite.

We had seder for 18 last night, and discovered a smoked whitefish gefilte fish recipe that was actually delicious. Smoked whitefish and tender sole, pureed carrots, onions and scallions, and a nippy horseradish mayo. Miles better than the jellied jar.
I just came up with a version of Korova Cookies, the buttery chocolate sables, that are gluten-free. I was inspired by the Gluten-Free Girl web site that another commentor mentioned -- she's a great resource, and has a great post up now that gives a nice overview of the world of gluten-free baking. Good luck!
straight-up classic mousse
toasted sesame bagel, whitefish salad, onions. amazing.
like all the other jews who are entering this contest on christmas, my ideal brunch is pretty much this.

My first crayfish party in Sweden, with songs and aquavit in a tiny cottage in the country.
This! But I live on the West Coast! Help!
As with cauliflower, I think roasting brings out the best sweetness in this crucifer. My favorite fall pantry meal is this combination of gnocchi with brussels sprouts and walnuts: roasted sprouts, potato dumplings, and toasted nuts, all topped with a bit of cheese.
I'm a sucker for Roman-style pizza cavolfiore: pizza bianca dough topped with caramelized cauliflower, coarse salt, and rosemary. Simple ingredients, elegant and crazy delicious results.
