We had seder for 18 last night, and discovered a smoked whitefish gefilte fish recipe that was actually delicious. Smoked whitefish and tender sole, pureed carrots, onions and scallions, and a nippy horseradish mayo. Miles better than the jellied jar.
I just came up with a version of Korova Cookies, the buttery chocolate sables, that are gluten-free. I was inspired by the Gluten-Free Girl web site that another commentor mentioned -- she's a great resource, and has a great post up now that gives a nice overview of the world of gluten-free baking.
