Drink the Book: 'Jelly Shot Test Kitchen'

I've only ever had regular jello shots. Sadness!

Poll: Do You Care About Cupcakes?

Can't go wrong with cake + frosting, no matter what form it's in. Then again, I've been known to remark that I could just eat a bowl of frosting, so maybe my opinion doesn't really count?

What's the Weirdest Sandwich You Make?

My sandwiches are never really that weird. Whenever there is a weird food conversation, I always tell this story about my brother. He was working in the kitchen at a local restaurant/pub, and they were deciding on the sandwich of the day. His suggestion was a sandwich he use to make when he was in university. You take two pancake, on one of the spread jam, on the other spread garlic spread and between them sandwich a fried egg and a cheese slice.
He didn't understand why no one else thought this would make a good sandwich of the day.

Cook the Book: 'Seasonal Fruit Desserts'

Strawberry Shortcake, hands down. With real whipped cream and fresh baked biscuits, preferably, but as long as the strawberries are fresh you could give me those store bought "Angel Food Cakes" that look like spongey foam and cool whip and I'd be content. :)

'Slice' Poll: Pineapple Pizza - Way or No Way?

I love pineapple on pizza, esspecially when paired with hot peppers (banana peppers are what I usually get, but jalapenios would probably work just as well). Something about the spicy heat combined with the sweetness apeals to my taste buds. There's usually some salty mixed in there too - bacon, sausage, something like that. Now I want pizza. That's why I should never comment on food sites - makes me hungry.

@Tupper Cooks! - I used to eat pizza with hot dogs on it all the time as a kid. Whenever we made homemade pizza. I used to love it, but I had weird (and very picky) tastes as a kid.

'Slice' Poll: Chicken Pizza - Way or No Way?

I'm not at all a purest when it comes to pizza (or really any type of food), and I am all about the chicken pizza. There is a pizza place close to my house that makes garlic chicken pizza and it is AWESOME. Crazy awesome.

Paddy's Pub & Rosie's Restaurant in Kentville, Nova Scotia. Great pub food, but the best thing on the menu in my opinion is the seafood crepe. Yum!

Cook the Book: 'The Best Soups in the World'

My mom recently made this creamy carrot soup that had no cream or dairy at all (it was Puréed and the creamy texture came from rice). It was very, very awesome.

Photo of the Day: Turducken! For Cats!

Hilarious! I would probably buy this for my cat (depending on the price) because it would make me laugh. Then I'd probably be jealous and have to buy a real turducken for myself...

Cook the Book: 'Good Eats: The Early Years'

We go away for thanksgiving to a camp on an island in the middle of nowhere with no electricity (well, the last few years we had a small generator but that's really neither here nor there). Usually the turkey gets cooked ahead of time, but a few years back the parents decided that we would cook the turkey in the old wood fired oven at the camp. what they didn't know is that the thermostat on the oven didn't work, so it was a good deal hotter then it was supposed to cook at. My mom uses those plastic roaster bags, and it melted to the top of the turkey, which cooked in a record 2 hours (for a turkey that fed like 15 people). Surprisingly, after taking of the plastic coated skin, they turkey was still pretty tasty!

Cook the Book: 'Simple Fresh Southern'

Ever since I was a child, my mom has been making this Squash casserole that has squash, cream cheese, sour cream, stove top stuffing, cream of mushroom soup and onions. And I'd never eaten it because I really dislike onions. This year, for some reason she decided to make it without onions just for me. Why she would do this after all these years (I'm 25) it beyond me. Anyway, to get to the point, it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Now I know why my brother obsesses over it.
