Frank Pepe's: The Ghost of Pizza Past Returns

Don't forget Colony Grill in Stamford! And it's in a bar! Two good things that go great together.

No Real Bagels In The Bay Area?

Manhattan Bagel comes closest in my mind. Both bagel and pizza on this coast suffer from the "chewy issue", but I have come to find both that satisfy. Just takes some patience and persistence. Plus, each time I go home to NY, I'm stunned at the corner deli Bagel dreck my NY friends will ingest.

I also have to add: Since WHEN does Asiago OR parmigiano EVER have the bite of Romano? The sharpness is NOT EVEN CLOSE. Romano has the most bite and is the most assertive and salty of the three.

I agree, and I mean no disrespect to CtGentleman, but Harry's isn't even 1/2 as good as Pepe's!!!

I lived in CT for 7 years. I went to Harry's more often because it was closer and my friend really liked it, but Pepe's is better! Heck, even West End Pizza in Bristol is better than Harry's.

OOOh here's a little hint. Instead of waiting in line at Pepe's, I would walk right past every one and order ny pie take out. Then, while waiting, go next door, and get some Libby's italian ice! Go across the street, get some birch beer (we all know New Haven pizza is nothing without birch beer), pick up your pizza and eat it in the park that is 2 blocks away!

I think Michael Stern is my doppelganger. Who wants to carpool to New Haven?!

CTGentleman is off his rocker! I will say that Harry's is good, but it aint no Pepe's. I for one am glad that Pepe's is coming to Manchester. I still drive down to New Haven once a month for three things, Rocco's, Pepe's, and Libby's. All three are the best in the products that they offer. Now, if Starter would only come back to New Haven and sell pro sports teams merchandise, that would be a superfecta.
