Chobani! Preferably the honey, pomegranate, and pineapple flavors. I drive to other towns just to get this yogurt. Also, 1 dollar at Market Basket. and oh so yummy.

Cook the Book: 'Almost Meatless'

my favorite low meat meal is thai fried rice with little bits of beef thinly sliced: lots of veggies and flavor with one egg and 1 little 4 oz steak sliced very thin. takes no time to cook and lasts me all week for lunches. which works out to less an an oz a day - and yet I feel like I'm having meat and it's very filling.

Serious Eats HQ Got New Sporks

I own a number of these and they are great for things that don't require a great deal of cutting. Nice and sturdy plastic.

Hamburger America: Gilley’s PM Lunch in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

This is my favorite place to take friends in Portsmouth as no one ever believes me that it's wonderful food. I've met the strangest people there in the middle of the night over cheese fries and hot dogs. Even on a cold day the line frequently is out the door. It is a wonderful landmark. When I saw the picture on my RSS feed I knew it had to be Gilley's.

In Defense of Breakfast: A Morning Manifesto

I'm a big fan of breakfast, I tend to bring food with me to make when I get there so I can relax and read my email while having breakfast at work. And I'm way more likely to skip dinner or have something small (and generally breakfast like) as my nighttime meal.

Do You Have a Favorite Greek Yogurt?

Cabot's Plain Greek Style Yogurt is absolutely wonderful! The price is right, too....much less expensive that Fage. Trader Joe's brand yogurt is also very good....especially the Honey flavoured. I like plain yogurt with a dollop of lemon curd....YUMMY!

Fage is fine but way too expensive.....rather make it myself than pay that amount. Oixos and Chobani, not so much.

Cold weather is chili time! Made with fresh tomatoes, chunks of steak and some diced habanero for a little extra kick. A big bowl of chili, caesar salad, and cheddary potato rolls are a truly memorable and satisfying meal.

Kielke and farmer sausage with "gravy" (aka cream sauce with onions). Oh thank goodness for Mennonite roots. If only I worked like a farmer to work it off.
