5 Ways to Organize Your Spice Rack

I have magnetic tins that I made myself. They don't have clear windows to avoid the light issue, and they stick to the side of the fridge, which is handy. I can add to anytime I want by just buying new tins. It worked out to around 1.30 per tin, which is a bit more expensive than some options, but certainly not prohibitively expensive. I buy my spices at penzey's in bags and so I have a secondary storage away in the pantry to store the rest of the package, but for ease of use I have the ones on the fridge. The only thing I regret is not gluing on two magnets on each as they rotate when you put them on the fridge so the names aren't always upright.

@Pot K. Black I got seriously addicted to Diet coke with lime, and then was forced to have diet pepsi, and wow, it tastes so similar to diet coke with lime. I figured out why people might prefer pepsi, citrus taste! But from a brand loyalty (read: irrational) perspective, I'll stick with diet coke. (preferably with lime!)

Would You Try These Extreme Coffee Creamers?

Coffee Mate sells a pumpkin spice.

We stick to sugar free hazelnut or vanilla in our house, though I'd prefer cinnamon, I often just sprinkle a little on my coffee if I am drinking it at home. We use them mostly due to the fact that the milk and sweetener is combined, reducing the steps in the morning.

It was the only day of the month that my mother would let me buy lunch, so it was special, but it was still pretty awful cardboardy yet chewy, sweet pizza. I eventually negotiated to switch to french toast day instead.

When I was in high school they decided to contract out the pizza to a local pizza place, so that was much better pizza.

Should Restaurants Allow Substitutions?

I was at a restaurant over the weekend that had a no substitution at all policy - with the exception of food allergies. Which really in my mind made me think that if I wanted something done slightly differently I would have to fake a food allergy, which I find extremely bad precedent.

I almost always order my salad dressing on the side as it's nearly always too much salad dressing and I don't like drowning my salad. I also always ask for my Ruben with the dressing on the side as I like dipping my sandwich rather than have the dressing run down my arms.

I also am somewhat lactose intolerant so I tend to avoid ice cream (and unprocessed milk) as it makes my stomach hurt - but I can eat yogurt and cheese - so I could see if I had a dish for dinner that had any dairy in it and then asked for the dessert not to have ice cream on it due to dietary restrictions, a server objecting on the basis of earlier cheese.

Would You Eat Lab Engineered Meat?

I am all for vat meat. It is perfect for all the meat products out there that don't really need to be meat like chicken nuggets, hamburger patties, hamburger helper, hamburger in spagetti sauce.. All those occasions where you really don't need the flavor or texture to be perfect. It could be cheap and healthier. And it would be better for the environment. This would allow us to farm animals for the better cuts of meat in much more humane and natural environments as the cheaper products would be farmed out to the vat meat producers.
