Cook the Book: 'Almost Meatless'

In my blog I have a great recipe for cabbage with just a little bacon. Something about the pork fat really elevates the cabbage into rich, savory territory. mmmmm

What shall we serve with Chimicurri Beef?

I would make some greens and potatoes.
Garlicky chard would be great.
I had a great steak on creamed spinach the other day. YUM
Lemons is right that skinny real french fries would be best.

Bacon War-need help

Onepercent has a lot of great feedback, and I totally agree on the black pepper suggestion.
While I do like bacon from the stove top, I find that baking it in the oven is much easier and less messy.
Just lay the strips over a cooling rack over a sheet pan. GL!

I love ________ butter.

(MISO sounds SO good!)

I love sage butter on just about everything, but especially steak and potatoes.

I really love almond butter, too.

Thanksgiving Breakfast Help

I have a fantastic recipe in my blog for my favorite make-ahead breakfast. English muffins with a great bacon, egg, cream cheese mix. Yum.
You can make them ahead and bake them on the day of. Take them out the night before, and they only need around 15 minutes in the oven. They have everything you want in breakfas, are super easy, and everybody loves them!

here's a link, but the post is really long so I've included the important stuff here.

Mom's super delicious breakfast thingies

preheat oven to 350

mix

1 lb. bacon, baked, cooled, and crumbled (you can fry it, I just find baking a million times easier)

1 pkg. softened cream cheese
8 oz. sour cream
2 tbsp. mayonnaise
12 hard-boiled eggs
2 sliced green onions
1 tsp. garlic salt

Mix together. Pile atop sliced English muffins. Top with shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

Freeze here. Once you've got them at room temperature, bake at 350 for around 15 minutes, or until everything is melty, gooey, and perfect.

These are so easy to take with you, too!
Good luck, and happy turkey day!

I love making veggie chili. Just as comforting as the meaty one my mom used to make.

I started a diet at the beginning of the year, and in the recipe book, there was a fabulous veggie chili. I make that every week and, seriously, I eat it at least three times for lunch in a week. So good!

An organic, cage-free egg cooked sunny-side-up has been my recent go-to dish for any meal. I like to top the egg with grated quality Parm, lots of cracked pepper and serve with crunchy toast and a little salad with a tangy vinaigrette.

My wife's tortilla soup. I think it's vegetarian, but she'll add chicken to mine only, but it's not even needed. She would like to go vegetarian but I say no. Maybe this book would persuade me.
