I've made sangria using red wine, triple sec (you can find nonalcoholic versions) and pink lemonade, then float orange, lemon and lime slices in it. I think I used about a 3-1-1 ratio. Delicious!!

Pizza Party Help

This will be frowned upon by real foodies, but I recently discovered that store bought biscuit dough makes really good mini pizzas. I had several packages of "Grands" biscuit dough that I needed to use up so we put them on a cookie sheet, flattened them out to personal pizza size and added sauce and toppings. I think we baked them at 375 for about 10-15 minutes. Easy and fast. And DELICIOUS!!

Your Lunch Today (Had it before?)

I usually have the same thing all week, but it varies every week depending on what leftovers are in the fridge.

Instead of making chicken soup out of the leftovers, make chicken salad. Mix chopped up chicken and veggies with chipotle mayo (mayo with some chopped chipotles in adobo sauce), or regular mayo. Have it plain or on bread or crackers.

French Breakfast Radishes

My family loves fresh radish sandwiches. Take a good italian or sourdough bread, put butter on one slice, mustard on the other, then put thick slices of radish between. MMMM makes me think of summer :-)

Recipe Request: Chili

My standard (making it tomorrow as a matter of fact)
Saute til soft - Butter, onions, celery, green pepper, jalapeno
Add ground beef or venison and brown
Add a couple Tbsp of taco seasoning and a pinch of cinnamon
Add your favorite beans
Add tomatoes, fresh or canned
Add tomato juice or V8
Simmer to blend flavors
If it's not hot enough from the jalapenos, add crushed red pepper or cayenne pepper
If you like the smoky flavor - add a little chopped chipotle with adobo sauce
Always a hit!!

Do You Eat Radish Leaves?

There's a pretty lengthy chain on the forum about this topic...check that for some ideas. I started using my radish tops after I read that and the chocolate and zucchini post linked to above. I sauteed them with some red chili powder, lemon juice and potatoes. They have a slightly bitter taste with a peppery kick...and are apparently really healthy for you.

i was looking for radish top recipes also, and i'm inspired by this talk thread to eat radishes with the bread i just baked, with sauteed radish tops on the side.

two vegetables for one, and healthy too!

Kielke and farmer sausage with "gravy" (aka cream sauce with onions). Oh thank goodness for Mennonite roots. If only I worked like a farmer to work it off.
