My mom has been in a secret love affair with the Big Mac (Pig Mac as we call it in my family) for 30+ years, and allows herself to inhale one per quarter. I mean, the woman eats the whole thing in under 3 minutes. She is going to flip (and hopefully savor) when I make her these!

Food Terms that should be banned from the media

Anything you would say to get your 2 year old to eat should be banned forever. Thankfully I have never heard an adult use "nom nom" or "sammich".

Artisanal bothers me when it's used for anything you can buy at the megamart. Mass produced shredded cheddar and frozen ciabatta rolls are not artisanal. It's also overused in magazine articles. Next time you pick up a Bon Appetit or Food & Wine, count the number of times you see the word used. It's ridiculous.
