Serious Salads: Quinoa with Corn, Tomatoes, Avocado, and Lime

I made this over the weekend and it really is delicious. I think you could say it serves more than 4 though unless your servings are awfully generous.

Starbucks Revives the Mocha Coconut Frappuccino Today

The great thing is you can just get the coconut syrup in any drink you want. Yesterday I got a coffee misto with one pump of their mocha syrup and one pump of the coconut and it was just the right amount of sweet and flavor and well under 200 calories.

Cross-Border Shopping Guide: Canada

I love this. I always covet the things I can get when I visit the US but I've never really considered it goes the other way too.

Although, when I was younger, my cousins from Boston came up to summer camp in Nova Scotia and on family day we always brought them Coffee Crisps and ketchup chips. One of the same cousins is now obsessed with Bick's Onion Relish that is apparently only available up here.

Mixed Review: Ghirardelli Brownie Mix vs. The New Baked Brownie Mix

I'm a huge fan of the Ghiardelli Triple Chocolate mix as well. I have friends request that I make them for special occasions. And, for less than $8 for 4 mixes from Costco (in Canada), they're a steal.

Mixed Review: Vosges Caramel Toffee Chocolate Chunk Brownies

These look amazing.

My favorite boxed brownie mix is, by far, the triple chocolate Ghirardelli mix from Costco. At under $8 for 4 mixes, it's a crazy bargain and I've never had a batch turn out over done or bad. Always gooey and delicious. Even better when I add peanut butter or caramel sauce in the middle.

Healthy and Delicious: Mexican Potato Soup

I'm from PEI! : ) The soil is red from the oxidation of the iron in it. There's nothing better than seeing the red dirt when you arrive for a trip home. And the potatoes really are fantastic.

Taste Test: Greek Yogurt

In Canada, we can't seem to find Greek yogurt anywhere so I've resorted to straining plain Liberte 2%. Now that I've started though, I can't bring myself to eat the regular stuff!

Standing Room Only: Bari Foods

Sounds, and looks, exactly like DiRienzo's here in Ottawa. So good and so cheap ($4 for a huge sandwich). Delicious. Can't wait to have it on Wednesday : )

Mixed Review: Pillsbury Fudge Supreme Peanut Butter Swirl Brownie Mix

I actually made peanut butter brownies last night. I used a Ghirardelli triple chocolate mix, threw in a handful of peanut butter chips then put 4 or 5 spoonfuls of straight peanut butter on the top and swirled it through. Baked for 48 minutes and they were perfect! I was craving comfort food and it was exactly what I needed. Now my co-workers are happy because they get to help eat them : )
