10 Food Memes, Themes, and Schemes of 2010

I am glad to hear that Bon Appetite will get a new editor. I have stopped buying and/or subscribing to this magazine after 10 years of being a loyal fan and reader. Quite frankly the pictures suck in the "new" format of the magazine. Its different, boring and uninspiring. I have no idea what they are doing with the magazine at this point. Gourmet was pulled off the shelves and I seriously thought Bon Appetite would be also. I know their readership has dropped and it is contributed to more than just the economy. They changed a format that didn't need to be changed - so guess what? I prefer not to read/buy them anymore. Every once and awhile, I will pick up a copy of the magazine at Borders just to see if someone at Bon Appetite woke up and realized that what is being produced is just not making the grade! I look back to editions that were produced just 5 years ago and up to a few years ago and the photography and articles are beautiful and interesting. So interesting and graphically enticing that you WANT to make the recipe(s) and create a dinner party or celebration. The photographs in the "new" Bon Appetite leaves me uninspired. Please let the new editor know that he should revise what is currently being published and bring back the beautiful photography that Bon Appetite was noted for and I BET the readership will return. Perhaps they can hire Lou Manna - every morsel of food he photographs is stunning!
