"Martha Stewart's Pies and Tarts" Pop-Up Shop

I went around 3:20 pm on Saturday and they were completely out of everything except the feta turnovers which they were only giving away free with purchase of a cookbook. I really admire what Martha does and the idea of a MS pop-up pie shop was irresistible, but seriously MS…your offices are in Manhattan, not Ohio, so why did you run out of products??? If you advertise 10am-6pm, you'd better well make sure you have enough pies to sell until closing. I was left sorely disappointed by the management of this weekend's event.

I Want This: Shin Bob, a Ball of Old Rice

verrrry cute. though it looks a bit frazzled in the big illustration, but quite relaxed in the rice cooker. also agree that kogepan (or ttanpan in korean) is adorable, especially for its surliness!

Liberté Yogurt: My Holy Grail of Dairy Products

i used to be a liberté devotee, but then i tried chobani yogurt with fruit on the bottom. delicious. it's a bit on the pricier side, so when i can't splurge i go back to liberté (pear + grains is a great flavor i agree, deb07!) or nonfat brown cow with fruit on the bottom.

does anyone have a recipe for making the batter? i'm tempted to do a hybrid version in my aebelskiver pan. thanks!

A Tale of Two Bakeries: Boston's Flour Bakery and Clear Flour Bread

must agree with howlandwolfe that those not in boston proper cannot access flour or clear flour easily. there are some other great options though…one is bread & chocolate in newtonville. delicious and picture-perfect pastries/cakes/cookies and a rich decadent hot chocolate!

Sugar Rush: Sweet Rice Twist from Koryodang

the twist's good – but you must try the rice flour donut holes. they're unadulterated (the twist has some crumbly covering), made from the same ingredients. they're highly addictive! also sold at koryodang.
