YES! California Raisin! My friend did it last year. Just like you describe. Here's a photo. http://www.mightysweet.com/mesohungry/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/19-californication.jpg
Kimchi Donuts from Dunkin' Donuts in Korea
Dang, makes me wonder what a Chinese bbq pork bun version of this would be like. Probably tasty.

Lunch for One: T-Poutine
Oh man. I walked in a few weeks ago but chickened out, because I had just eaten a super sweet waffle. I should have done it anyway.

Sweet pic by pic. I couldn't tell what that dish was until after.

The Manhattan Motorino: Is It as Good as the Brooklyn Location?
@famdoc... yeah, I was a big fan of the BYOB in the early days of the Brooklyn Motorino. I wonder if you get more or less customers with BYOB ...or more or less $$

That dosa looks awesome. I once had the lunch take out buffet $6.95 (to stay or to go) and it was really tasty for a non-vegetarian like me.
Soup Dumplings and More at Shanghai Asian Cuisine
ooh, I was just walking around Chinatown yesterday and kept seeing signs for soup dumplings. Then I thought about it for an hour. Sweet pics.

Off the Beaten Path: Taking One for the Team at LQQM Kung Fu Bing in Chinatown
I tried it last night. I liked it and ate the whole thing. Sure the freshly made roti pancake is greasy, but isn't it supposed to be for it to be delicious? I got the beef and egg. I think the egg helped. Thinking what would happen if I put a really good burger patty or some roast pork in there :)
Well anyway, thanks for writing about it. I'm glad I tried it.

Dang, Kung Fu Bing sounds right up my alley. Might have to try it today.
Brooklyn Bowl: Can Bowling Alley Food Be Finger-Lickin' Good?
Dang that sloppy joe looks good. I'd be interested in seeing how their stage/music venue is set up. Shonen Knife, Blue Ribbon & bowling sounds like a good combination. I can't figure out what this Twestival event thing is they're doing. Maybe I'm stupid.
Video: Frank Bruni Reviews the Choco Taco
Cool video. get it? "cool"? Dang.
I didn't realize Klondike made the Choco Taco and Mister Softee sold them. I thought it was a Taco Bell thing.
When they swapped food, all I could imagine was what the reporter was thinking --if he should eat off the same side that Frank Bruni bit off? He did. I guess I do that all the time, but I'm usually drunk.
Smörgåsboard: Sesame Pancakes, S'mores, Egg Creams
Thanks for the link! Someone had a good eye and corrected me though. Those are really scallion pancakes. I don't know anything. I just act chinese.
Pannekoek, the Dutch Pancake
cool! I'd love a combination of mushrooms, bacon, Gouda and apple slices. Especially for breakkie.
I cannot bring myself to a "sweet style" pancake in the early AM...this would be clever. and the "substance" (ie thin) pancake makes it sound better.
Dutch ja?! right on!
Off the Beaten Path: Taking One for the Team at LQQM Kung Fu Bing in Chinatown
The Boyfriend went up to take a pic with the panda, but I wouldn't touch anything with a cheesy mascot and unabashedly try to be the next KFC. I'm glad you are brave enough to try so I don't have to. For that I thank you.
10 DIY Food-Themed Halloween Costumes
Ha! I love these. I had a Jolly Green Giant and a Morton Salt Girl in my group on Halloween, too. I dressed up as sushi. Super easy--white packing peanuts in a clear plastic bag, a dark green t-shirt cut into a band for the nori, a salmon-colored shirt, and a paper-and-fabric "soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger" brooch.

No doubt the deviled egg is my favorite. There's nothing I like more than a costume that plays on words. However, I must confess that even more endearing to this Colorado girl is the Trader Joe's jingle. Because of our liquor laws (we just started selling on Sundays in liquor stores), we won't be seeing Trader Joe's any time soon. Thanks for the great costume ideas!

Dude, I was SO a deviled egg last year. It was awesome. Also, mine was hand made out of fabric and looked like a big plush egg, way more awesome than foam core. My husband wore a red shit and went as paprika.

Kimchi Donuts from Dunkin' Donuts in Korea
This looks a lot like the curry pan buns I used to buy from Japanese bakeries, except with kimchi filling. I love curry pan and kimchi, so I'm pretty sure I would love these too :)

I bet this is really good. I love sweet and savory. I think I'll buy a doughnut on my way home and eat it with some kimchi.

Snapshots from London: Raclette at Borough Market's Kappacasein
reading this makes me wish it were the holidays and I was at home... my family always has raclette around Christmas. but it's not really raclette unless it's topped with "rustica," a mysterious, ungoogleable blend of spices that can only be found in Switzerland.
now I am so hungry for this. agggh!
