Advice on great places to eat in Europe

I visited Europe last summer and did a lot of research for good restaurants and interesting places to visit along the way on a budget. I wrote a post on my food blog for each city I visited. It may have some useful information for you.
London
Paris

Also I would highly recommend a couple apps if you have a smart phone. Trip It, Air BnB, and Yelp. With Yelp, I did a lot of searching while I was in the states and was able to bookmark places I thought sounded cool. It came in handy when I was in a city looking for places to eat. I could simply check my app as long as I had a wifi connection.

Hope that helps.

Advice on great places to eat in Europe

I visited Europe last summer. I wrote a couple blog posts about my experiences, being on a tight budget also. I'm a vegetarian so that did effect my choices for places to eat of course. But this may give you some good tips anyway. Feel free to take a look!

I also recommend using Yelp. It helped me a lot because I could search online for places I was interested in and bookmark them. I have the app on my smart phone so i was able to view them from my phone when I had a wifi connection.

Creative gift ideas for a foodie

I'm sorry I meant to put a "?" at the end. Forgive me if I misled you. I'm looking for ideas not giving them. :)

Baby Shower

I agree that you shouldn't have to bring anything. But if you are really wanting to, I think strawberry cake/cupcakes is a fun girly thing to have, or have shirley temples for everyone in cute cups. I have hosted a few baby/bridals showers and had great success. A couple times I got a bag of Lindt truffles at target real cheap to use as prizes. I don't like most games they have at showers. But after much research I have found a handful that I liked. One being one gift that is wrapped in many many layers and you pass around the gift (like musical chairs) and when the music stops that person unwraps a layer, etc. and the person who finally opens the gift gets it. Anyway, hope that helps.

Uses for Sumac? Know a good recipe?

Thank you SO much everyone. Tonight I tried some za'atar (from this website). It was really good! I sprinkled it on pita that I lightly oiled, baked it in the oven until it was a little crispy, and served it with homemade hummus. I really liked the taste of the sumac. I can't wait to try other suggestions you gave. A big thanks to my fellow foodies. I'm going to post this dinner in my blog, if you want to check it out! :)

Do you dream of food?

I have had two dreams now with Starbuck's maple scone which has been sadly discontinued. Haha.

Has anyone ever made their own ricotta?

yes, a vegan replacement that was WAY more flavorful!

Ideas for Saffron?

I found some saffron at whole foods and was looking for a good recipe myself. I found this recipe and posted a blog about it. It was very good! Loved the texture. Such a great easy side!
Crispy Saffron Potatoes!

share your easy vegetarian lasagna recipe

This recipe is delicious. It's actually vegan. The hardest part is the ricotta cheese replacement, so if you would like to go ahead and use ricotta or cottage cheese, it would be a lot easier. Also, the pictures in this post don't give it justice. It was VERY good!!

Vegan Lasagna with Roasted Cauliflower Ricotta & Spinach

Or I would also be happy to share with you my family's favorite vegetarian lasagna recipe. It's similar to the one here, same sauce.

let me know if you would like it or have any questions.

Pumpkin Flax Waffles

Looks delicious!! I made some vegan pumpkin pancakes in the past that were the weirdest texture. I couldn't tell if it was cooked or not. haha. These look great.

Anyone know of a good recipe for Rice, Tapioca or Bread pudding?

I'm not personally a fan of these things but my boyfriend knows I'm a great cook and is expecting my version of these puddings to be amazing.. i just have no idea what recipe to try. I'm a vegetarian and try to avoid eggs. I'd prefer a good tasting recipe that's not too eggy... any suggestions or tips? I want it to be good quality and blow him away:D

Ever froze cookie dough? Help me!

I made a delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies. I used the recipe I always use, they came out of the oven looking great. I only baked half of the dough. The other half I wrapped in wax paper and taped shut and placed in a zip-lock freezer bag. That was about 2 weeks ago.
Tonight I pulled a roll out of the freezer and cut slices off, placed them on a baking sheet and slid them in a preheated oven. They came out very flat like lifeless pancakes. As they cooled off they became hard as a rock. I had to scrape most of them in the garbage... I can't figure out what went wrong!
This is my first time freezing cookie dough. So I didn't know what to expect. I was out of cooking spray so I used olive oil to grease the cookie sheet.

Any thoughts? Tips?

Thank you so much!

German Rock Sugar: uses?

I got some at Teavanna because it looked amazing. I don't generally sweeten my tea. Anyone have any favorite uses for it? I'm afraid to waste it on something that will mask it haha.

Creative gift ideas for a foodie

For my friend's birthday I thought it would be fun to do something a little different. Possibly inspire her. She loves anything vintage/retro. I have seen some ideas where you put cookie ingredients in a mason jar.. any other ideas? I would prefer it not be too complicated and pretty simple. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Thank you!

Sweet Technique: How to Make Frozen Mousse Bombes

If you're ever in the mood to put together a fancy dessert at home, mousse bombes are a fantastic way to go. They satisfy my craving for many things at once; a little cake, a little frozen mousse, and a surprise bit of fresh fruit, jelly, or nuts. Best of all, they have a gorgeous, smooth shell of chocolate that looks as beautiful as it tastes, giving you the dramatic payoff of a plated dessert with just a little effort. More

Pizza with faina

We recently saw an Uruguayan/Argentinian movie in which a character ordered pizza with faina. I was so intrigued I did a bit of research. Turns out faina is a baked chickpea flour batter, with lots of herbs and black pepper.... More

Setting out to recreate Huy Fong's ubiquitous sauce, I ended up with something that hit the right notes, but with a brighter, fresher flavor that makes homemade Sriracha something special. More

11 Brownie Recipes We Love

When it comes to brownies, there's nothing wrong with the classic: chewy and fudgy, rich and intense. But sometimes you want to play a bit and serve your brownies spiced up with chiles or cooled off with mint, studded with dried fruit or salty pretzels and creamy caramel.
