Man Vs. Food: Gluttony or just good TV?

I agree with a lot of other people.. I was interested at first and after about two episodes it started to get a bit disgusting. I started to feel sick watching it and realized the whole show is essentially what is so wrong with America's eating habits... why promote that even more?

Recap: Top Chef DC, Episode 1

Loving Eric Ripert already and I got excited when I saw all the guest judges that will come along throughout the season!

Kenny seems to definitely be talented and a nice guy, especially when he's paired next to pompous Angelo, who should've just stayed in Montecarlo, but I'm sure I'll love to hate him. (wouldn't it be funny if he was really at the Monte Carlo in Vegas and not Italy?)

I think this looks like a great season though, I'm excited for it and happy to have Jillian's reviews to accompany it!

'Top Chef Masters' Finale: And The Winner Is...

I thought Marcus seemed like a jerk much more than Susur ever appeared to be.. so I was pretty disappointed that he won. Haha I was pretty frustrated with Rick too because that was not the night for venison. Aw well, totally watching Top Chef next week... will you be writing those recaps as well?!

And sidenote - anyone see the Art competition show, Work of Art, afterwards? haha I find the basis of that show insane (or .. more insane than other Bravo shows)

'Top Chef Masters,' Episode 1: Just The Tasty Bits

hahaha I loved this review! ...but yeah.. I kinda hated the whole team thing because I got less of a sense of the chefs' personalities through what they would have personally cooked. Plus, the gas station challenge REALLY grossed me out. Anyways, I liked who won and thought they had the best dishes and I'm very excited to watch more of the season!

Do you shop Farmers' Markets or belong to a CSA?

I definitely would like to shop at farmer's markets more frequently... but with cold weather and only a bike as transportation I don't get out to them very often. There is a farmer's market that just started happening every saturday by my house though (piazza @ schmidts for those philly folks) that I try to get to and then make a delicious breakfast with. It's a completely different and much more enjoyable experience versus simply grocery shopping I think.

I remember years ago thinking a bite of Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich was pretty, well spicy, but my heat tolerance was much lower then so, now I'm not too sure.
