Lyndhurst, New Jersey: Mr. Bruno's Pizzeria

I wasn't really into Sicilian slices, until I went to Donna's in Palisades Park, NJ. Smack dab in the middle of K-Town. Their Sicilian is like none other. Crispy once re-cooked, then super moist between the crust and cheese. They're family owned have two spin offs called DonnaGio's in Cliffside Park and Saddle Brook, NJ.

Pizza Hut Teases Re-Release of Past Menu Item; Could It Be Cheesy Bites?

@adam, nah, Pi'zone was just recent. The pie I remember was kind of like a stuffed pizza, crust on top and bottom, but filled with pizza sauce and pizza toppings like lasagna. Once I find out, I'll forward you the site.

Pizza Hut Teases Re-Release of Past Menu Item; Could It Be Cheesy Bites?

The "Edge" was good.

I remember back in the 80's, they had a pizza pie. Literally like an apple pie, not turnover. It was called something like Pizziola, Pie'zazz, or something like that.

Today's Special Burger at Rub BBQ: Hamburger Oscar

Doesn't that kinda alienate the readers that don't live close to RubBBQ or other burger joints in the NYC area? If I read a blog that is constantly referencing businesses from Kansas or Alaska with daily specials, prices, maps, address, phone number, links or if I owned a burger joint in NYC, I would think there is something fishy going on. I know it's a burger blog and I'm chuckling as I'm typing this, but it sure seems very biased and unbalanced "food blog" journalism.

Today's Special Burger at Rub BBQ: Hamburger Oscar

Was there an article I missed stating that the owners of Rub BBQ runs A Hamburger Today blog. What's with the weekly/daily Rub Burgers specials? Over at "sliceny," they sure talk about DiFara's plenty, but they don't announce DiFara's daily specials.

I went there once and was not impressed. Too sharp, too salty. 2 min out of the oven and it's lost it's crunch. I just don't get it either. Most, if not all famous pizzerias have unknown Pizzaioli that make pizza the way of the family's recipe. Is it necessary to have only one Pizzaioli, making the pies 365/24/7? That's totally crazy. I blame the yuppies for the extended hype.

How to Order a Slice of Pizza in NYC

Ohh, I forgot to add. Adam, why don't you write a followup article about how to properly fold a paper plate when taking a slice "tago." That would definitely get non-NYC readers all riled up.

**2 cents** I tend to slide the pizza halfway off the plate, fold the slice with the plate, then wrap the back of the plate around the crust. Sometimes when the pizza is too greasy, I tuck a napkin where the crust and paper plate folds.

How to Order a Slice of Pizza in NYC

I think everybody is entitled to a gripe or two about the content of a SliceNY article, but don't take it that serious. I, for one, find it interesting how people order pizza outside of the New York area, but I see what you are saying. When I read an article about how to order a cheesesteak in Philly, I get wound up also. I used to think they were pretentious with all this ordering requirements. Through the years, I learned to appreciate other cities' rules of engagements and chuckle at the differences.

Today's Special Burger at Rub BBQ: Pacific Northwestern Burger

Dick's is the king of Burgers in the NorthWest. I'll have them over In-N-Out any day. They look like your stereotypical heat-lamp burger, but tastes hella good. I pass on the fries though...too greasy.

I also understand that probably a small amount of the pizzerias don't sell slices either. i.e. Denino's, Grimaldi's (Hoboken), Brooklyn Pizzeria (Hackensack), Lee's Tavern

The 5-Boro Pizza Tour 2010

Not trying to be a know-it-all or snob, but wouldn't a better representation of judging a pizza be by the slice (reheated)? I didn't check if there is a poll on this subject, but would love to see the results.

I'm sorry, maybe I missed something, but what is the signifigance of

"Marco did something I'd never seen before. He formed a thin length of dough and laid it on the pie, dividing it into two halves?"

Also, once the pizza is cooked and the dividing strip of dough has cooked, how does he slice it?

This Week's Poll Results: A Cheeseless Pizza Is Still a Pizza

My idea of Pizza is Cheese, Sauce, and Crust. Bare minimum.
What constitutes a pizza?

Crust & Cheese >(doesn't equal) pizza? Cheesy bread?
Cheese & Sauce > pizza? Carbless lasagna/Pizza?
but
Crust & Sauce = pizza? Lactose Intolerant Pizza?
Huh?

Adam, what are your thoughts on the results?

Chain Burger Brackets: Wendy's vs. Culver's

Dang Adam. I feel bad for you and Robyn. Ever since the inception of this tourny, you guys are getting it from all regions. Fortunately only two chains that I haven't had are in the Mid-West region (Culver's and SmashBurger). I'll opt not to vote on those to give them a fair chance. But if they make it to finals, they won't have a chance with the national chains.

Chain Burger Brackets: Carl's Jr. vs. Jack in the Box

@gentlefury Actually it would be like Rally's and Checkers.

@xRyanx If you don't mind my $.02 with your dilemma. If both burger are hard to side with, does the fact that Carl's Jr., like BK uses some sort of liquid smoke in their beef to give it that charbroiled taste? In my opinion, Jumbo Jack is my go to burger and it doesn't hurt to order some tacos on the side or even as an appetizer, what?!!!! Love it!!

Chain Burger Brackets: Carl's Jr. vs. Jack in the Box

Of course In-N-Out is top seeded and a favor to win. My money is on In-N-Out, even though I know more regional and non-regional burgers not on this bracket that can clearly wipe out In-N-Out. Definitely a solid burger none-the-less.
