Coming home from swim practice in the morning and having a BLT for breakfast. Truly divine!

I don't comment much on Serious Eats, but I really feel that I need to for this review. I admit that those burgers look pretty awful and that the fries, in general, seem straight outta Jewel-Osco -- Aaron's right in that Firkin is not a burger joint. However, the non-burger sandwiches are typically very good, especially the steak sandwich and BLT mentioned above. Additionally, the duck tacos available as a special are superb. The appetizer and cheese menus are diverse and provide good noshes when one doesn't want to eat a full meal. I went quite a few times when I lived in the area, and just yesterday I was reminiscing about what a cool place this is. I'm saddened that there isn't a Firkin duplicate in the DC area.

For sure my toaster oven. Delicious and perfectly toasted english muffins, wonderful reheated pizza, a juicy steak when I'm cooking for one and don't want to do much work...

I am convinced that my dad's potato leek soup can cure any illness, physical or otherwise. That, there, is some good soup.

ET bagel, toasted, cream cheese on one half and butter on the other. Nice and crisp outside, light on the inside. Black coffee, too.

Mmmmm... ET bagel, toasted, cream cheese, lox, capers, onion. Bottomless cup of coffee, black. An orange for dessert.
