Since we are Portuguese I have to say Portuguese sausages. Believe me now that he is older and in the nursing home (MA) with rehab that is all he talks about. ;-) Thanks. Going down south and since I am corn fed...it has to be homemade but now there are so many ways of making it and simple I would eat any type of cornbread. YUMMY FOR THE TUMMY!!! ;-) Thanks.

My mom always cooked the meals and I still remember the taste. What I truly loved about Easter was that my mom would always make our baskets...and I mean she went all around finding what we liked in toys, candy, etc. and then she would hide them in the house to find. Doing personal things like that on the holidays was always a special treat. ;-) Thanks and Happy Easter. God Bless ^A^

Anything with tuna, tomato and mozzarella...YUM YUM!!!! ;-) Make sure there is olive oil.
I am not much of a cook but I did once put the entire chicken in boiling water with salt and 2 cups of rice and it was the best meal that I really enjoyed. ;-) Oh yes...forgot the chicken broth. No fuss and so easy. Extra seasoning was added to taste. I forgot to add dumplings which my mom always added to her soups but next time I did and YUM YUM!!!!
Would love this for my "at home chef" older brother in TEXAS!! ;-)

My dad makes the most amazing preserved vegetables. My grandmother taught him and its a family secret. He won't even tell my mom and my mom has to BEG him to make it. He keeps it in a jar for a few days for the best flavor, but my sister and I would sneak bites that by the time it's supposed to be ready, it's half eaten. It has chinese cabbages, cucumbers, baby onions, and carrots. It sweet, crunchy, sour, spicy (like kimchi! but not red), and salty. The mouth is confused at first, but the stomach is always happy. (I miss my dad!).
It is sorta strange, but IBC rootbeer always reminds me of my dad. As a treat to us kids, once in a while he would stop at the grocery store after work and buy IBC root beer and Vanilla ice cream as a treat for us kids (root beer floats)
My dad loves cabbage rolls. His grandmother used to make them, and the recipe came from the "Old Country".
