Dinner Tonight: Jacques Pépin's Quick-Roasted Chicken

Calvinator: Absolutely approve of your choice! It takes a TRUE man to admit a 'bro-mance'. lol

pateberry: Thanks for re-confirming my Bank-Account-Abuse and boy, were you SPOT on! I had pics taken with JP and Sous Chef/Daughter Claudine, shot a live video of his cooking demo, had him sign anything that had texture, AND I won a crate of wine which has two bottles signed by the man! My head has been in the clouds.....WEEKS after meeting him.

Ranks right up there with first experiences! No jokes....

Healthy & Delicious: Greek Orzo Salad

This is a great recipe and I have been famous for making it for our Annual Family Picnic for the last 10 years.
Variations for the Orzo: Penne, Rotini, Cous Cous(reconstituted in veg/chicken/beef broth). If eaten immediately, use toasted, broken shards of Pita Bread.
For protein: torn bits of roasted chicken or simply tuna packed in oil.
MUST HAVE: chopped flat-leaf parsley! Green summery freshness.
Opah!

Dinner Tonight: Jacques Pépin's Quick-Roasted Chicken

I have a chance to meet the man himself but it will leave me monetarily starved for months! I guess it is worth slumming it to meet the 'Rock Star' in person. BTW, this chicken method is divine.....bow to the Master!

Sugar Rush: A New Trio of Sweets at Locanda Verde

I thought I was the only one entranced by the picture! I was trying to convince my brain that there was bacon wrapped around that sweet apple cinnamon's waist! Alas, just a mirage.

Tim Hortons Comes to New York

Unfortunately, Timmy's may get lost in translation. When Krispy Kreme opened several years ago in Toronto, it was all the rage. But after a while, the ones who were true to the donut stopped going or were admitted to the hospital, so they closed the location.
Although I am not a coffee drinker, TH makes a less fattening version of the Mocha Frappuccino that is a third of the price of Starbuck's. Works for me. DDonuts was always to rich for my blood; cholesterol wise.
Bon chance Tim Horton's!

Martha Stewart's Macaroni and Cheese

Wickedly good. Made the M&C for the first time based on the postings and I am glad that there are reliable taste buds walking this earth! Dinner guests had second helpings but appreciated the palette-cleansing-vinegar-dressed salad to cut thru the richness. And those bread crumbs?? Shazam!! Life is good! To marginally cut-down on the recipes sizable amount of dishes, use the same high-sided skillet in Procedure 2 to melt the butter in Pro.1. Hope this helps!
