I went to college up there, too, and every fall I crave those donuts. Still warm, eaten while standing in the parking lot at Atkins...crisp fall air. Cold apple cider chaser. Practically the best part of my college education.

Thank you for this walk down Amnesia Lane. I put on the Freshman 15 at Atkins Farms--went to Mt. Holyoke. Good Lord, the doughnuts. Good lord the cider. Fall at MHC was always great. The nightly 10 pm M&Cs (Milk & Cookies, an endowed fund at the school, I'll have you know) in October were often from Atkins.

This is off-topic, but isn't it Atkins Fruit Bowl? I'm pretty sure it was when
I worked there as an electrical contractor some 25 years ago. I installed an
energy management system there.

It's Atkins Farms, not Atkin's Farms. The farms do not belong to one Atkin, they belong to the Atkins family. (In fact it should be Atkins' Farms, but if they've chosen to name it Atkins Farms then so be it, that's the name of the business.) But under no circumstances should it be Atkin's Farms.
In any case, the donuts look good.

I grew up in northampton, MA, and watched atkins grow from a small apple store to the mega-grocery it is today, and I still scarf cider donuts at any opportunity. Thanks for featuring a standout from the beautiful Pioneer Valley.
