Cheeseburger vs. 'Ground Meat on a Bun'

Or maybe we should all eat what we like and not worry so much about who calls it what....

Quote of the Day: Burger Tax of the Future

One has to assume Bittman's comment about burgers and fires refers to the country's reliance on fast-food joints like McDonald's. I love burgers, but honestly, I eat them about once per month, and never from fast-food places. I get sandwiches I enjoy, and I eat them in moderation, not for lunch every day. I wouldn't have a problem with such a tax, especially if it did support better school lunches. I doubt the general public would have a problem with such a tax once it is in place, especially when they see the benefits.

AHT Giveaway: Case of Pat LaFrieda Burgers

My football food reliables are 1.) taco dip, 2.) a variation of the cheeseburger dip you featured last week, 3.) hot wings and 4.) Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald. I eat them at home and bring them with me if I'm at someone else's party for the big game. The hamburger party I throw with the LaFriedas next weekend, however, will guarantee my chance to host a Superbowl party in 2012.

Man Vs. Food: Gluttony or just good TV?

It's one thing to dislike a show you find wasteful (I'm not sure Man V. Food is wasteful, but it is kind of gross to watch). To decry it because the food wasn't provided to the less fortunate? You could say that about anybody who eats an expensive meal or eats "too much," whatever that amount may be.

Dear AHT: Karl's Sandwich Bar in Arhus, Denmark

I lived in Aarhus several years ago but never heard of this place. I want to go back so bad!

I've had 'em, they're good. But the chili is a little off. I guess I have my own, homemade preferences for that.
