Kimchi Donuts from Dunkin' Donuts in Korea

Hmmmm sounds like a twist on an eggroll, just with some extra dough.

Might be good warmed up with a beer :)

Should Bagel Shops Charge For Toasting?

Lenny's is ridiculous, the extra 25 charge for toasting is listed on their online menu and so is an extra 50 cents for half and half in some of their coffee drinks. Since when did half and half become high end milk ?

Breakfast/Bagel Suggestions in NYC

A good spot for a decent bagel with schmeer in walking distance to W. 30th/5th is Bagel & Bean. B&B is on the corner of 7th Ave & West 30th. It's a decent bagel shop/deli with a wide variety of bagels and spreads. I was there recently and had a killer whole wheat everything bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese. The better bagel houses (H&H Bagels, Ess-a-Bagel or Times Square Hot Bagels) are all a taxi or subway ride away from were you are staying.

If you have the time, take a stroll down Fifth Ave and make right onto West 18th Street for City Bakery at 3 West 18th St. They have outstanding bakery savories.

Freefoods NYC: the food snob

FreeFoods is expensive. I went to try their ginger mango chai smoothie and it set me back over $9 for a 12 oz. cup.

Making Pączki, or Polish Doughnuts

Polish paczki are the the best ! It's too bad you have to schlep out to the suburbs or outer boroughs of NYC to find bakeries that carry them. Check out these Polish doughnuts I picked up at a Polish bakery in Northern NJ which are huge and have the sugar glaze instead of granulated sugar.

Going 'All the Way' with Burgers at The Hot Grill in Clifton, New Jersey

Nick great story. I grew up on Hot Grill in Clifton and it is hands down the best in Northern NJ , if not the tri-state area for Texas style dogs and burgers. Order a cheeseburger "all the way" and fries with gravy and you will be coming back again and again.

Pork Roll/Taylor Ham

I just did a story on this on my breakfast blog back in August. You can find taylor ham in Midtown at Starlite Deli on West 44th Street (btw. Broadway & 8th Ave) a few doors down from Carmine's. The guys behind the counter take the full pork roll/taylor ham out and will deli slice it for you on the spot.

Breakfast, the most important meal of the day? Really?

Everyone is different but from my own personal experience running a breakfast blog for the past 2 months the mornings when I go for oatmeal, smoothies or have a yogurt parfait with berries & granola I feel the best.

I still love donuts, bagels and egg sandwiches which I find in moderation with exercise works fine for me.
