I have to say I find it hard to drink a very bitter cocktail or anything with Vermouth, but I will have to seek out some of the suggestions above and give it another go. I've always gone with some Prosecco or a Kir, though I hear Kir is passé in France these days.

So if a Martini is out, is a gin and tonic OK? I've been conscious of what I drink with a meal, but never gave much thought to the drink before the meal having any affect on it's taste. Until now, that is!
