Congee Village and Congee Bowery both serve top notch food while Vanessa's is a local favorite serving super cheap dishes like 4 dumplings for a dollar and other miraculous deals. They all have a nice atmosphere - even Vanessa's!

I've been using cheapeatery.com based on a hound's recommendation and it's proving to be an awesome too. Nothing over $10 and tons of places for under $6. Plus, they have more cheap eateries than I've ever seen at other resources. Awesome
I know the issue came out a while ago but New York Magazine's cheap eats list is getting a bit out of hand especially in this recession. Since when is $25 considered cheap! Can anyone recommend an alternative? Because I eat big but my wallet is suffering as a broke college student. Thanks!
