I think it's a great idea. We pay a premium to enjoy drinks at these places, why not enjoy them?
Molly, your final paragraph really gets to the heart of the matter. It seems like DWT has success when it is just the 3 of them. The toddler senses that less attention is being paid when another family joins them. If the parents want to socialize with adult friends over dinner, it's best to hire a sitter.
Instead of pickle relish, I pat dry and chop a few slices of pickled jalapeno. Mix in with the usual mayo and mustard. But now that I see horseradish, I want to try that.
Onejolie, that's how I have done it many times. I brush oil on the steak first.
I agree about cilantro and sweet pickles. Raw onions are the worse.
Gorgeous. I'd eat that.
It's no SE, but this Baby Boomer might visit occasionally.
My homemade 3 hour Texas all meat chili is greatly enhanced by a can of Amy's Spicy Vegetarian Chili.
This site is unique, and a pleasure to read every day (sometimes twice a day). Whatever it is they are doing right, I hope they keep doing it. Extreme diets annoy me too, and any meatless diet is extreme in my opinion. But emotional outbursts of anger do not belong here, so thank you for keeping this site rational.
Lately I've set aside the Beam-n-coke of my namesake for Apperol and Grapefruit soda (San Pellogrino's).
Fresh Peeps are nasty. You must poke a hole in the plastic and let them dry a bit before eating.
Brilliant Ryan Aslett. How did I miss that episode?
SE's Mustard Roasted Red Snapper, with quinoa. Your coconut curry chicken sounds good for tomorrow.
I love my Breville SmartOven. Especially during the Houston summertime, and for holiday cooking.
For my chili recipe, I use one can of pintos, but only add half the beans to my chili. The other half gets the stick blender treatment in the can, then add the puree to the chili.
Great. I'm glad you're doing this. I can't think of any questions right now, but I look forward to reading others'. I love this stuff!
Honeymooned in the Hill Country in order to pig out at Salt Lick.
Corned beef with potatoes and butter braised cabbage.
Lemonfair, I think the chickens were doing the chasing and torturing.
Not that I've ever seen this, but I think any kind of "surf and turf" burger would be a bad idea.
I made jedd's etouffee last night, and the flavor was very good. I added andouille sausage to the mix. Next time I would cook the veg longer before adding liquid.
That looks good, jedd, I'll try that tonight.
Beer, scotch and Bailey's.
I often find that restaurant burgers are too big for me to eat in one sitting. If I cut it in half first, then I have a clean half to take home.
