Snapshots from Iceland: Cutest Skyr Container Ever
The containers remind me of Dippin' Dots packaging. Cute! I wonder if this stuff is available anywhere in Canada?
Snapshots from Iceland: Overloaded Open-Face Sandwich
Looks beautiful, but how did you eat it without it falling apart?
'New York Times' Goes After 'Food Section' Blog Tagline
As a few people mentioned on his blog, at least this show's his blog is noteworthy enough to have caught the NYT's attention. It does, however, seem like a silly thing for them to spend their time and resources on.
Banning fast food near schools? Your take.
I'm all for healthier alternatives, and if the same people who do the banning do the organizing and have some affordable healthy places open up, that's great. That being said, I would have freaked out if someone tried to take away my Pizza Hut lunch buffet when I was in school. Jerks.
Perfect picnic food
A big bowl of strawberries drizzled with balsamic vinegar
Dinner Tonight: Green Lentil Salad with Baby Spinach and Goat Cheese
Yes! I have been seeing du Puy lentils popping up a lot lately on the blogosphere. I am a long time lover of them, especially when combined with caramelized onions, goat cheese and walnuts. Your recipe looks fab!
Why kosher salt?
I love the feeling of it when I scoop some up to salt my pasta water.

Does this really surprise anyone? I've seen that sassy southerner wrap just about everything in bacon. Once her son even wrapped pretzels in bacon!
Coffee Top Caddy: Yea or Nay?
Um, I like this idea. I take 3 creams and three sugars in my coffee so this could help out quite a bit!
Sugar on Snow: Maple Syrup on Snow Snack in Vermont
We definitely don't serve it with pickles here in Montreal. We just let the sweetness overwhelm us, untempered by a contrasting flavour. Nothing like a sugar coma to put you in a good mood.
Cooking from the Glossies: Key Lime Coconut Cake
You had me at toasted coconut, and salvaging fruits on the edge of death.
Serious Grape: Women and Wine
Wine marketers can "cherchent" me all they want. I am willing to sample any wine that comes by way. I will make an informed judgment about its quality, and then decide whether or not I will buy it.

The Secret Ingredient: Pomegranate Molasses
Fantastic and comprehensive post. I have heard whispers of this stuff, but have yet to try it. You made it sound very approachable!

I really hope that is some kind of animal-friendly potion and not really wine. Who IS the anteater's insane owner?
French in a Flash: Crispy Salmon with Lentils du Puy and Two-Mustard Crème Fraîche
First of all, great writing in this article. I really like the way Kerry describes this recipe. Very refreshing, straightforward and funny.
Secondly, I love this meal as an example of combining some of the most delicious, healthy items out there into one amazing meal that is jam-packed with nutrients. Lentils de Puy are also excellent drizzled with walnut oil and sprinked with goat cheese. Yum!

Healthy & Delicious: Red Cabbage With Apples and Honey
Cabbage and apples are a killer combo. I usually use caraway seeds instead of coriander, but I would be curious to try your version
Grocery Ninja: What to Do With Condensed Milk
Like mcebacal, I have discovered the wonder of Vietnamese coffee. It's so rich and dark and creamy and delicious. You're on to something here.
No Beets Will Grow in the White House's Organic Vegetable Garden?
Maybe he's never tried garlic roasted beets drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with feta. That might change his mind.

I stumbled upon this site looking for recipes for Pomegranate Molasses, and I'm so glad I did! I love the Secret Ingredient idea and can't wait to check out the others! And these Pomegranate Molasses and Pine Nut Cookies are going to be a nice change to make for Christmas! Thanks for the inspiration!

Grocery Ninja: What to Do With Condensed Milk
My favorite recipe consists of a couple of spoonfulls of sugar, condensed milk and 7up.
Put the sugar in a tall glass add some condensed milk. Stir the mixture and then add the 7up or coca-cola.

This is great! I picked up a bottle of molasses recently because it sounded interesting but didn't have any idea what to do with it. All of these sound wonderful. Thanks!
Dinner Tonight: Green Lentil Salad with Baby Spinach and Goat Cheese
Made this last night. Really delicious. Doubled the recipe for lunch leftovers!

Man, there's some serious hatin' going on here. I personally think the idea of deep-fried mac and cheese is astoundingly awesome. I am all about the occasional over the top snacking. And yeah, her expression 14 seconds in says it all.

@Gorgonzola23: I am so glad! Thank you. And I very much hope you enjoyed the salmon.

Well I don't live in NYC or Paris... but made this in Kansas City last night and it was tasty. Kerry, I just randomly found you on the internet and promise to be an avid follower from now on. Keep up the great work!
Snapshots from Iceland: Overloaded Open-Face Sandwich
I'm from Scandinavia (Sweden), you seem to be intrested so...
That's a pretty common sandwich over here, like someone said - IKEA does a pretty good version of this. It's intended to be eaten with knife and fork, in most places people would think it's a bit rude to eat with your hands.
What you call a "open face sandwich" is just a sandwich to us. What you call a sandwich, we call a "double sandwich". Usually you only use two slices of bread if you go on a picnic, for practical reasons.
Different styles, but I tell you... I miss those american style sandwiches over here.

Snapshots from Iceland: Cutest Skyr Container Ever
There is an Icelander based in NY that produces Skyr under the name Siggi's Skyr, which you can get in Whole Foods.
Skyr.com has some store info.

Snapshots from Iceland: Overloaded Open-Face Sandwich
This looks just like many a sandwiche we ate while traveling in Scandinavia. Also, love IKEA cafeteria lunches! and take-home snacks. A lot of Scandinavian cookies, etc. aren't as sweet as ours.

I can't find it anymore at Whole Foods. Sigh, it used to be my daily indulgence as expensive as it was.
Snapshots from Iceland: Cutest Skyr Container Ever
I love skyr! I so want to go to there. Like, right now.
Snapshots from Iceland: Overloaded Open-Face Sandwich
The IKEA cafeteria makes a pared down version of this that tastes surprisingly fresh!
Snapshots from Iceland: Overloaded Open-Face Sandwich
I remember in the early 70's eating at relatives of my husband in Holland - there was bread, ham, cheese, on the table and I remember well how the table went entirely quiet when I put ham AND cheese on one piece of bread, then added another piece of bread on top - they had never seen anything like it!
I have to admit though that the above open faced sandwich looks mighty fine - I could cosy up to that, and I will - here in Canada, it is one of the Sandwiches offered at Ikea cafe!
Snapshots from Iceland: Overloaded Open-Face Sandwich
oooh, that is so nice.
Snapshots from Iceland: Overloaded Open-Face Sandwich
Wow. There is certainly a lot going on on that plate...but it looks yummy for sure!
Banning fast food near schools? Your take.
Why are we, as a society, allowing such poor quality food (and I'm not talking about the taste) to exist and be consummed. There is a serious problem when low quality and nearly-poisonous "foods" are targeted to low income groups (students, neighborhoods) because they're cheap. Well of course, they're cheap! You get what you pay for... and worse, you'll keep on paying for it with your health.... Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Obesity. Shouldn't we be supporting and defending companies that take pride in their quality foods? Moe importantly, fast foods and soft drinks should be banned INSIDE of our schools. Students should have healthy options -- at least in one area of their lives!
Banning fast food near schools? Your take.
My high school (which had a closed campus to all but seniors) offered a lunch item that was 3 breadsticks, a cup of marinara, and a cup of cheese sauce..... not exactly healthy. They did have salads but they were always brown and watery and cost about a buck more than regular (read: unhealthy) lunches. So I don't really see how fastfood can be that much worse.
