Best Empanadas in NYC?

Even though it's frozen and a bit commercialized, i would disagree on Mama's Empanadas being bad. You just have to order the more popular ones. The Hawaiiana or the Cuban empanadas are great. You will be very happy after you try the guava and chees empanada...

Latin Thing: Tiny Space, Big Flavors, Large Portions, Low Prices

I used to eat here... great deal... food could taste fresher.... I'm sure freshness will improve as it becomes more popular... Great Idea!!!

Your Favorite New York Latin Food

Sophie's is great and is springing up all over Manhattan. So is Pio Pio, My dad took me to the original one on Woodhaven before it became popular and I fell in love for good reason. The green hot sauce is second to none.
I'm excited to see Peruvian Cuisine grow in NYC in the near future.

Can anyone suggest authentic Peruvian, Bolivian or Ecuadorian spots?
