Fonda's the truth (if you can deal with long waits and iffy service), but the real reason to go there is the burger. Yes, a burger at a Mexican restaurant. Trust me.

A Sandwich a Day: #21, Turkey and Cranberry, at Press 195

Stuffing-stuffed gut bomb thanksgiving sandwiches are my white whale. Can you recommend any of THOSE?

Sugar Rush: Cranberry-Sage Pie at Four & Twenty Blackbirds

Oh, but they won't sell you a whole pie. And they'll act like you're an idiot if you even have the gumption to ask for one. I wish this place didn't get so much great press because the pies are really only average and the service is borderline hostile.

A Sandwich A Day: Pernil with a Twist at Sophie's Cuban

Just ordered this on seamlessweb and it was excellente. The pernil was really tasty, but the plantains and sauce made it something special. It doesn't seem to be available at all locations, but you can order it from the 45th St location in midtown east.

What's Your Favorite New York Slice?

Bleecker street pizza? Really?

My vote goes to Little Italy on 43rd (btwn 5th & madison). Cafe Rustico on 35th (btwn 5th & 6th) is a close second.

What's Your Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie?

Jacques Torres by a mile.

Sugar Rush: Where to Find Avocado Shakes

Any specific recommendations on where to get there in Hawaii or are they sellin em on every corner over there?

The City's Best Soup Dumplings at Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao in Flushing

What about fried pork dumplings? I'm disappointed every time I try these in Chinatown.

Where can I find Ekmek in NYC?

Thanks for the recommendations! I still have every intention of hitting Astoria to continue my quest, but I had a go at making my own ekmek from the above recipe and thought I'd share the photographic evidence.

Where can I find Ekmek in NYC?

Wow, you guys are amazing. Nosillak, I'd love to get some Astoria suggestions!

Help Me Help a Friend - Food Delivery in NYC?

SeamlessWeb is all you need to know. Just enter your friend's address and you can see all the local restaurants that deliver to her.

There are generally healthy options and you can always enter special instructions when adding items to your order. I'm a picky eater, so I get a lot of mileage out of the special instructions feature - since it's printed right on your order, the restaurants (nearly) always gets it right.

Where can I find Ekmek in NYC?

My wife and I went to Greece for our honeymoon and had lots of a dessert called Ekmek. After doing some research, it appears to be a Turkish dessert, but I haven't seen it anywhere in the city (Greek OR Turkish restaurants).

Our second anniversary is coming up and I'd like to take my wife someplace where we can get some Ekmek! Anyone ever seen/heard of it?
