Around 15 years ago I encountered Huy Fong's Sriracha sauce for the first time in a friend's refrigerator. I'm a fairly inquisitive person so I inspected it closely, gave it a shake and brought it near my nose to give it a smell. Well I opened the nozzle and some built up pressure caused hot sauce to explode into my eye. I doubled over and held my eye in pain as all my friends thought I was kidding around, until they saw my eye had turned as red as the sriracha. That was quite painful.

Tea shops in Manhattan?

Tafu was a nice place in the DoubleTree in Midtown East, more grab and go, but they had nice Japanese influenced sweets — matcha macaroons. I heard they may have just closed though. Follow Me Cafe has tea and crepes, neither are exceptional but the spot is "cute," certainly relaxing. St. Alp's Tea House in the East Village, lots of bubble teas, although it can get loud and busy. For straight up sweets in Hells Kitchen drop by Kyotofu.
