I love kimchi fried rice! Especially with a fried egg on top...yum. I like to add in some extra greens like bok choy or broccoli rabe.
I grew up eating Filipino food and lived in California for a few years (where there's definitely a lot more Filipino restaurants), so I'm very excited to try this place out and all the other Filipino restaurants in NYC. The Crispy Pata looks amazing... Ang sarap naman!
My husband and I have been here for dinner a few times with friends and we've been happy each visit. Their menu is very unique and playful, so if you like different, this is your place. I agree with having the Foie Gras Doughnut as a starter to share and if you're a fried whole fish fan, I'd recommend 'A Fish & Some Chips'. The space inside and out are cool, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable... Granted, they're new so everything wasn't perfect, but all in all we were pretty happy and will definitely go back.

Celery smoothies are among my husband's favorite green smoothies. So to celebrate Valentine's Day, I decided to make him a "green smoothie" that goes well with this holiday! Share this smoothie with your special someone.

I added a few cloves of garlic to the boiling pot of potatoes and then mixed in some Pecorino Romano cheese and fresh mozzarella in the mash. You can easily make this in advance. Just cover and chill in the fridge for a few hours or overnight.
The batter is sweetened by the ripe bananas and dates. I used a blender to mix all the wet ingredients, so no need to chop the dates. You can adjust how sweet you want your bread by adding more bananas or dates.
This is one of my all-time favorite green smoothies, not only for its beautiful color but it also tastes delicious. The celery flavor is noticeable, but subtle enough to not overpower the berries. One whole banana adds a creamy texture.
I've had tartines all summer long. I truly enjoy how much variety you can add with these simple appetizers. BLT's are one of my favorite sandwiches so I decided to come up with a simple open-faced version of this American classic.
In honor of Ms. Irene, I created a quick cocktail drink. Hopefully this will appease her wrath. I made sure the drink is strong enough (probably a category 3 by my standards) and adding coconut water and lime juice make this a bit more tropical.
If you like honey roasted nuts, you should try my version of this snack. I combined several varieties of nuts and spiced it up with some homemade Garam Masala, a spice mix common in India and other Asian countries.
This green smoothie is great for beginners as it only involves a few ingredients: mangoes, parsley, water and ice. It's incredibly creamy, the color is a beautiful lime green and the blend of mango and parsley result in a fresh summer flavor.
I roasted the chicken with pancetta for a crunchy top, some pitted olives and husk tomatoes. We had a little Pinot Grigio wine left over, so I included that at the end for a nice sauce to form when in the oven. The wine also keeps the chicken moist.
My take on this classic French recipe is pretty simple but with a little twist. I infused the custard with fresh basil for just a hint of basil flavor. If you leave out the basil, you'll get the traditional recipe...
The main ingredients are spicy Italian sausage, potatoes, garlic, and mushrooms. I added a few husk tomatoes and used a good amount of whole garlic cloves, no need to peel. Plus, you can mix and bake it all in one dish making this an easy dinner.
This pasta is the easiest way to enjoy crab. The crab flavor is so much more intense since you eat the whole crab, shells and everything. Regular pasta is delicious which makes the recipe nice and delicate, but I use whole wheat pasta for more depth.

This quick and simple recipe is a great way to use corn this summer, fresh or leftover. It's to be eaten cold on a hot summer night, also as a great side dish to a family picnic.
At one point a decade or two ago, Filipino restaurants were as common as Momofukus in the East Village. Those days are long gone, but with the opening of Sa Aming Nayon a few months back, we may be witnessing a rebirth. More

If pun-laced pre-meal banter annoys you, you may as well stop reading here, because Do or Dine probably isn't for you. Opened in Brooklyn's Bed-Stuy earlier this summer, the restaurant is an intentionally oddball, intentionally free-form eatery with no particular culinary bent (except fried things; and yuzu) and no totally fixed menu ("This whole restaurant is a culinary expression of ADHD," said co-owner Luke Jackson). What you'll eat is sometimes bizarre, sometimes delicious, and occasionally both. More

My husband's from Germany and we always bring back bags of Haribo Goldbären. Funny thing was, when he was little his Grandmother would let him snack on them because of the fruit juice!
