Scooped: Irish Coffee Ice Cream with Shaved Dark Chocolate and Candied Pecans
DO NOT ADD THE AMOUNT OF SALT SPECIFIED. I made this ice cream this weekend, added the teaspoon of salt (which seemed like a lot, but I trusted the recipe), and was horribly disappointed when the ice cream was inedible after all the time put in making caramel, shaving chocolate, and candying the pecans. What a waste.
I'm sure the recipe would be delicious with half, or even a quarter of the salt specified.

This looks great and I am supremely jealous. Although as a landscape architecture student, I'm compelled to clarify that Frederick Law Olmsted was the father of LANDSCAPE architecture in this country, and his name has no "a" in it (don't worry, it's a common mistake).
What Is Superman Ice Cream?
I grew up on the Jersey shore-- 2 hours from New York City, you can find Superman Ice cream at Sundae Times in Spring Lake.

Yes, I did use kosher salt. Apparently the ice cream is a hit with other taste-testers. My boyfriend really likes how soft the ice cream is staying (he has appropriated the batch).
