How to Make a Pizookie, or a Pizza-Cookie
When it's time to enjoy, it's time to ENJOY. =D
No regrets! (until you walk onto the scale...just kidding)
Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds: The True Champion of Breakfast Cereals?
Love love LOOOVE HBofO and I didn't discover this cereal until college! I am currently eating Kashi U cereal (I am trying to eat more "healthy" cereals) but I definitely miss the taste of the crunchy and delightful honey bunches.
I think I'm going to buy a box today.
Impromptu Taste Test: The Cult of Yakult
I like it when I first start drinking it. And then...the dreaded, dry aftertaste that you write about comes along. I find the after-feeling too unpleasant and so thumbs down for me.

California Eatin': Dutch Crunch in the Bay Area
Wow I had no idea that Dutch Crunch was relatively unknown outside the Bay Area!
Growing up in the East Bay, I ALWAYS picked the Dutch Crunch roll for my sandwiches from Lucca's Deli in Castro Valley. I'm not sure where the bread is from, but it is very good.
The Dutch Crunch should be made more popular around the U.S. With its delightful crust and soft insides, this bread deserves to be more mainstream! =D
Seriously Italian: Abbracci Cookies
Looks fun to make! The described texture and look reminds me of the icebox checker box cookies.
I'll definitely try this recipe out!
French in a Flash: Pain au Chocolat Cinnamon Rolls with Crème Fraîche Icing and Walnuts
These look delightful. Definitely going to try them out!
Unique to: San Francisco
You have GOT to try Bi-Rite Creamery's ice cream. They have some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Salted caramel anyone?
Also, Acme bread is awesome, and Cheeseboard pizza from Berkeley!
The Beatles Did Not Have a Sweet Tooth for Jelly Babies
Jelly babies look a little creepy >
Large Movie Popcorn with Butter: 1,220 Calories
Australian-style strawberry licorice from Trader Joe's and other assorted gummy candies.
I love popcorn but there's no way I can bring myself to spend close to $10 on a bucket at the movies when I can make even better (and much less costly) popcorn at home!
Photo of the Day: Penguin Tteok
Oh goodness, that is just too cute.
Banning fast food near schools? Your take.
I left high school not too long ago and remember that it was going through changes in its food menu. Prior to the changes, there were soda machines everywhere, along with Pizza Hut personal pizzas, McDonald's cheeseburgers, and Taco Bell burritos sold in our cafeteria. Not surprisingly, a vast majority of my high school bought these items for lunch.
However, the school board decided to revamp the food items offered - for the better. All of our soda machines were replaced by Gatorade/Propel, water, and juice machines. Although some of the fast food items remained available, many more healthy sandwiches and salads appeared on the menu. Having the healthier choices at school made it much easier for students to opt out of the fast food option.
One thing though - my high school was a closed campus. But I think the best solution is to FIRST improve the food selection offered within the school, and then deal with banning fast food restaurants later. Ultimately, kids learn eating habits from their parents and their environment.
Banning fast food restaurants won't stop kids from eating too much fast food, but good parenting will.
One Dozen Trader Joe's Eggs, Each with a Double Yolk
Dude that is really creepy. Verrryyy creepy.

Mixed Review: Barefoot Contessa Homemade Marshmallow Mix
I made homemade marshmallows during Christmas and was also surprised by how easy it was to make. I didn't use a kit and simply followed a recipe, and it turned out fine.
$11 is a bit much for a kit that is not comprised of expensive ingredients. Next time you make it you can also drizzle it with chocolate and coconut shavings and it'll make for a nice treat. =D
What food(s) did you love as a kid and now can't stand?
Processed cheese. Ugh.
Also, I used to LOVE LOVE LOOVE Dinty Moore's Beef Stew. I requested to eat it every Sunday morning. yum sodium!
Can't eat that stuff anymore.
Cook the Book: 'Kneadlessly Simple'
Gotta be Walnut Bread. The chewy texture of bread mixed with crisp walnuts can't be beat.
