Sunday Brunch: Crumb Cake

Speaking of honey cakes.....I recd., what I thought, was an authentic honey cake recipe from a friend. I, in turn, shared it with another friend and when she made it it turned out badly. Now I'm afraid to try it. Does anyone have an "authentic" honey cake recipe they will share?

Seriously Italian: A Tale of Beef, Three Ways

The Beef Salad!!!! Don't know anyone else who grew up with it...yes, we had the soup on Monday, because it was laundry day and my mother made the salad to go with it along with her homemade Italian bread. Hers had the cooked, shredded beef, chopped boiled red potatoes, lots of onions, parsley and dressed with red wine vinegar and olive oil. What a memory!! I've tried to make it but somehow it never tastes as good as I remember. auntiemar

At what point does a recipe become your own?

I learned alot of "recipes" from my Italian mother. When friends ask me for a recipe, its difficult to write it down because I am uncertain about the measurements, so sometimes I look for published recipes that are similar and try to adapt the measurements to what I make. Now I wonder who does this recipe belong to?????
