Cook the Book: 'Rustic Fruit Desserts'

I'd have to say that my favorite fruit dessert is/was my late great-aunt's strawberry shortcake. I never knew when she would have one waiting for us when we'd go to visit, but if she did...it was awesome.

Seriously Italian: Sicilian-Style Baked Cod

My husband and I made this on Monday night. It was wonderful! We've been trying to incorporate more fish into our diets, and this recipe appealed to both of us. Can't wait to make it again.

It's so hard to choose just one! Hmmm... for today I will say Spaghetti alla Norma: A tomato-based sauce with eggplant! It's wonderful in the summertime..

Burrata Makes Headlines, Unfortunately

When I was out in California in December and January, I noticed burrata on numerous menus, up and down the coast. I had never tied it before, but I indulged several times during our trip. It was amazing. I imagined it would make its way to NYC very soon!

Weekend Madness: Win an Autographed Copy of 'United States of Arugula'

I've been eating arugula for longer than I can remember, but I DO remember the first time my husband (then boyfriend) ate it for the first time. I was making him dinner for the first time--penne amatriciana with an arugula salad. He stole a leaf, chewed on it for a while, and said, "What is that? It's awesome. It's so peppery." That's when I knew I'd marry him (kidding). But now we eat arugula salads as often as possible.

Cook the Book: 'Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant'

My go-to dish when eating alone at home is spaghetti with olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes, topped with parmesan cheese. I'll make a big batch of it and eat it all by myself. It's incredibly simple and satisfying.

I had already commented and was reading some of the others when I remembered another favorite of mine. I don't know if any of you will have tried it, but I love "Wojapi". It's a traditional Sioux kind-of a fruit pudding. In the old days they used to use dried berries, especially chokecherries, but now we make it with fresh or frozen berries, any kind. I love to make it and everyone loves to eat it!
