The United States of Pizza: Indiana
I am a Pizza King fan - my parents often bring a Porky Pizza with bbq sauce to me in Cinci when they come to visit. It is definitely a regional thing and nostalgic. It is not the best pizza I have ever eaten, but the combo of sausage, ham, and pepperoni with their bbq sauce (I swear the local place in my home town uses Open Pit) is heavenly. The crust gets a nice char on it as well. The deliciousness varies at the different locations. They also have a nice roast beef and gravy sub/hoagie called a "Beef Boat". Now I'm really hungry..
Spice Hunting: Lavender
AKL Maui makes an amazing lavender pepper seasoning with fennel, taragon, and thyme with black, white and red pepper. Terrific on meat, even better on ripe strawberries with a dribble of balsamic vinegar.
Gadgets: Sur La Table's Oil Mister
I purchased this mister at Sur La Table and it did not work either. I even went to the website to see if there were special directions (since it came with none) or to see if someone had given a review that discussed its failure or gave advice how to fix it/make it work. No product reviews on their website! Shame on them! I have not attempted to return it to the store but it makes me hesitant to buy non-brand name items there again.
