Vegan Pizza ... at Di Fara?

I haven't been to DiFara's so I don't know what they're normal prices are for slices with toppings. I understand it's 5 for a plain slice. So a dollar extra for all those different vegetable toppings seems perfectly reasonable (if you're already willing to pay 5 dollars a slice anyway). I'm not a vegan and always get cheese on my pizza, but I have no problem with someone ordering a pizza without cheese. It's not like she asked to skip the line--she waited just like everyone else. Although I am also confused at how to make a single cheese-less slice unless a whole pizza sans cheese was made.

The Best Way to Reheat Pizza

I used to use a microwave then frying pan and that was great (not that it could be done most people's office for lunch). I don't have a microwave anymore, so I think I'll try covering the frying pan like others have suggested.

Pollo Pesto at Pizzeria Regina in Boston's North End--100% way. Chicken on Pizza at Pepe's in New Haven - no way. Unfortunately, most places end up drying out the chicken, but when done right, it can be great.

@pastry262 - Yes--it's from the same place; Big Lou's in San Antonio. As much as I love pizza though, the first thing I'm heading for next time I'm in San Antonio is Lulu's for that 4 lb cinnamon roll--it looked amazing.

Kenji Alt's Homemade Pizza Hack

Regarding pizza stones cracking at high heat, it's a probably a problem with the quality of the stone, which is generally poor most places you find. Before I moved to NYC and lost my backyard, I used to cook pizza on my grill using over lump charcoal (temps would get over 700, which is as high as my thermometer would read). I used a stone made for my grill, a big green egg (you can probably find the stone in the accessories section on their website, www.biggreenegg.com). It was significantly thicker and heavier than any I've had before and could handle the high heat. I still use the stone in my current oven (highest heat only 550, ugh!) and have had no problems in 6+ years of grilling and oven baking. I really miss grilling pizza though--the high heat of lump charcoal was as close as I could get to a coal fired pizza from a good pizzeria.
