How about either Otto ( http://www.ottopizzeria.com/) or Boqueria SoHo ( http://www.boquerianyc.com/index2.html ) both are great places for groups, fairly affordable, and have perfect atmospheres for ordering lots of small plates to share and wine (or sangria in Boqueria's case).

What's your favorite food when drunk?
Looks like I might be the only "health nut" here, but my ultimate drunk food is a bowl of nutty granola with milk and crunchy almond butter drizzled on top.

Do Singles Bars Exist in NYC?
Thanks all - I'm not looking for a "mate" or even a serious boyfriend. What I would am seeking to find is a bar out there, where I can go, have a drink/dinner, and be able to hold a conversation with someone without it automatically leading to a drunken fest (slight exaggeration, but just to emphasize my point).
Sunday night dinner for a medium-sized group
How about Uncle Nick's in Hell's Kitchen? Really good, authentic Greek food - wide selection of small plates and entrees. Order their huge Greek salad for the table, a couple of mezzes for sharing, and also a great selection of wines.

I have an English friend who can make a mean roasted lamb neck for Sunday Dinner. The best lamb I have ever cooked was actually the frozen marinated rack of lamb from TJ's!

I've only had lamb once or twice...leg of lamb cooked by my father-in-law, which was so-so, and lamb chops cooked by my dad on the grill, which were quite good. Oh, and my husband makes a pasta dish of Giada's that uses lamb that is excellent.

Don't think I've ever met a lamb dish I didn't love. Braised, roasted, grilled, it's all delish.

Aaah, lamb.... My favorite dish is from where I'm from, Macedonia, although I think most of the Balkan countries make it, and Turkey possibly too. It's called Elbasan Tava, (tava meaning pan), and it is roast leg of lamb, with a surrounding of a plain yogurt and egg mixture added toward the end of roasting. The eggy mixture bakes in the lamb juices and it is simply divine. I can't wait til spring when I can go home to eat some. And then eat some more.

I'm a fan of gyros myself, though I've never actually used lamb to cook them. Just this weekend I had a nice roast leg of lamb.

My favorite lamb recipes are the lamb shanks. I have gotten it at Casa Mono and at Tarry Lodge and they are both great.

We buy a whole lamb every year, so we do eat a lot. I love rack of lamb or grilled chops with lemon and oregano. Lamb stew is good. Braised shoulder chops. Gyros (I grind it and make it myself) are a great treat but a lot of work. Roast leg of lamb is great, too, followed by lamb sandwiches the next day.
Did I mention that we eat a lot of lamb?

I have never cooked lamb, but need to remedy that soon!
